UFC 235 Embedded: episode 5

On Episode 5 of UFC 235 Embedded, all of the event’s athletes attend Ultimate Media Day. Faceoffs feature light heavyweight headliners Jon Jones and Anthony Smith, welterweight champ Tyron Woodley and challenger Kamaru Usman, and former welterweight champion Robbie Lawler and opponent Ben Askren. The UFC Performance Institute draws a who’s-who of UFC 235, including Russia’s Zabit Magomedsharipov, Brazil’s Johnny Walker, former champion Cody Garbrandt and strawweight Tecia Torres. The men from the night’s two championship fights entertain at open workouts, one arriving in an impromptu party bus.

On Episode 4 of UFC 235 Embedded, light heavyweight champion Jon Jones stays focused by watching opponent Anthony Smith’s interviews. Welterweight title challenger Kamaru Usman gets custom meals for the week at the UFC Performance Institute, where training partner and former champion Rashad Evans runs into several of his past opponents. Jones has a friendly interaction with former rival Evans and meets French heavyweight Francis Ngannou. Teammates Tyron Woodley and Ben Askren continue to train together in Las Vegas, Woodley for his welterweight title defense and Askren for his Octagon debut. Former bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt introduces welterweight Diego Sanchez to his secret weapon – his son.

On Episode 3 of UFC 235 Embedded, the stars of the event make their ways to Las Vegas as fight night draws closer: light heavyweight title challenger Anthony Smith, welterweight title challenger Kamaru Usman, light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and welterweight king Tyron Woodley. Inside the UFC offices, former welterweight champion Robbie Lawler keeps it low-key, as debuting opponent Ben Askren takes in all of the fight week process. UFC 235 press conference highlights

UFC light heavyweight champ Jon Jones, his upcoming UFC 235 challenger Anthony Smith, along with welterweight champ Tyron Woodley and his upcoming challenger Kamaru Usman, took part in a UFC 235 press conference Thursday for their March 2 pay-per-view event.

Also taking part was UFC newcomer Ben Askren and his opponent Robbie Lawler, as well as Cody Garbrandt and his opponent Pedro Munhoz. The highlight of the presser was definitely Askren’s comments regarding his new boss Dana White and their exchanges.
