Watch: New WWE champion Drew McIntyre is grateful to The Rock

If it was not for the coronavirus the new WWE champion would have likely been Roman Reigns – again. WWE head Vince McMahon has tried and tried again to successfully hold a coronation for Roman as THE guy and failed. This would have been the fifth wrestlemania that Roman headlined if it had not been for the fact that he has a compromised immune system. Because of this fact they had to go another route and crown Braun Strowman as the WWE Universal champion and Drew McIntyre as WWE champion. Drew had a very specific person to thank and having this mega star behind him helped propel him to the top. He thanked him recently in an interview with TMZ Sports.
