The UFC held a media conference call Tuesday for their upcoming UFC 161 card taking place Saturday, June 15, at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Light heavyweight headliners Dan Henderson and “Suga” Rashad Evans, along with heavyweight co-headliners Roy “Big Country” Nelson and Stipe Miocic participated in the call.
A new bout has been formed for the UFC on FOX 8 card as Robbie Lawler’s (10-9) opponent Tarec Saffiedine (14-3) has suffered an injury, which has forced him to withdraw from their scheduled matchup. Siyar Bahadurzada (21-5-1) has stepped in as a replacement and now faces Lawler at UFC on FOX 8, which takes place at the Key Arena in Seattle, Wash., on July 27.

On this week’s episode of UFC Tonight Chael Sonnen will be bringing a “surprising update” on his fight career. Everyone knows Sonnen filled out a Twitter application to fight “Shogun” Rua at UFC 161 after “Little Nog” was injured, but apparently visa problems are keeping him out of Canada at the moment and therefore out of the fight. MMA great Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira will return to the octagon on Saturday night to rematch Fabricio Werdum in the UFC on FUEL TV 10 main event. Nogueira was able to defeat a young Werdum in 2006 at the PRIDE Critical Countdown Absolute event in Japan. Werdum will be fighting for the first time in almost a year, and will look to avenge the defeat while inching closer to an eventual UFC title shot.
The former UFC light heavyweight champ Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has been relatively quiet since parting ways with the UFC after his unanimous decision loss against Glover Teixeira in January. It was his third consecutive loss in the UFC, including losses to Ryan Bader and UFC champ Jon Jones. However, Jackson hinted at a possible fight in the near future via his Twitter account
