Wait what? 1-3 Weidman feels he was denied a title shot and spot as TUF coach

Former middleweight champion Chris Weidman may be one of the most delusional active UFC fighters right now. Weidman tells MMA Hour he’s going to come back and dominate; Fedor, Lee, and Alvarez open up

The MMA Hour was FULL yesterday. Kevin Lee, Fedor Emelianenko, Chris Weidman, and Eddie Alvarez were on the program. An item of note was Chris Weidman’s prediction that he would dominate the middleweight division on his return. He was finished by Luke Rockhold and lost the middleweight title, then finished by Yoel Romero, and to top off a three fight skid he was finished by Gegard Mousasi. He bounced back and pulled off a submission win over Kelvin Gastelum. Was that the start of a comeback? Check out what he said…

Weidman says he should be next for Robert Whittaker

UFC 221 was supposed to crown a new interim middleweight champion but it went off the tracks Saturday when Yoel Romero missed weight meaning he couldn’t win the belt and then defeated Luke Rockhold anyway. The middleweight division is in a bit of chaos right now. To prove my point, former middleweight champion Chris Weidman has thrown his name out there for a shot against current champ Robert Whittaker. Chris is 1-3 in his last four and his one win is against former welterweight Kelvin Gastelum making his claim to a title shot unrealistic. Still, check out what he had to say.

Romero was considered the heir apparent to the title but after a solid run he lost to Robert Whittaker in his first try at the interim belt. The craziness of needing two belts is another article for another day. Check out Romero’s crushing 3rd round finish of Chris Weidman at UFC 205.
