Covington declares he’s fighting for the ‘real belt’

Here we go again. Colby Covington, aka the new Chael Sonnen better be ready to back up his trash talk when he steps in to the cage with Rafael Dos Anjos. The bout goes down on Saturday at UFC 225 in Chicago and ahead of it Covington has been dissing Dos Anjos and anyone else within shouting distance. We swear he’s Voldemort and has put a spell on his name that alerts him when another fighter says it so he spring in to action. With welterweight champ Tyron Woodley on the shelf since July of last year he claims he and RDA are fighting for the ‘real belt’. We can’t say we blame him. A lot of fighters stall for one reason or the other so they can remain the champ. Marketing and movie offers come easily when you hold the belt. Check out Colby’s claims…

UFC 225 media scrum with Benavidez, Gadelha, Ige

UFC 225 takes place June 9th with one heck of a card on tap. Middleweight champion Robert Whittaker faces Yoel Romero for a second time and Rafael Dos Anjos squares off with Colby Covington in a grudge match-up in the main and co-main respectively. CM Punk fights for a second time and believe it or not, former light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans is fighting in the prelims. Wow. UFC on FOX: Robbie Lawler talks about Dos Anjos and says title shot on the line

Kenny Florian and  Tyron Woodley talked to former middleweight champion Robbie Lawler last night on FOX. Robbie opened up about why he dominates Rafael Dos Anjos everywhere in their fight this Saturday in Winnipeg. He discusses his training camp, fighting south paws, not liking the cold, and the lesser fight schedule he has adopted. He also says a title shot is one the line for the winner of his bout.
