After an amazing night of fights to close out the 2013 campaign, we have a whole new list of match ups that we can start talking about. Some things were already set in place prior to UFC 168 but now they are as cemented as they can be (always subject to change). Let’s look at three fights that we think are going to happen and how they will help shape 2014. For fun I’ll throw in three fights that need to happen
Ovince Saint Preux has had 3 fights in 24 months and he’s been healthy the entire time. In 2012 he was the victim of the collapse of Strikeforce, fighting only 1 time that year. This year, he has fought twice for the UFC – defeating both of his opponents, but a third fight has yet to materialize due to injuries within his division.
As the matchmaker for any company it all comes down to relationships. You have to prove yourselves to fighters and managers before they will even consider being a part of your event.
