Rousey vs. Carano not likely to happen after all, thanks De Niro

Gina Carano will take a break from fighting to star in 'Knockout.'

UFC women’s bantamweight titleholder Ronda Rousey had been rumored to expect the return of Gina Carano, now that is likely not happening. Academy Award-winning actor Robert De Niro is the reason.

She will be filming a movie called “Bus 657” and along with De Niro she will stand beside Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista. Bautista is known to WWE fans as Batista.

October is the start date for “Bus 657” and to further drive the nail in to the UFC return coffin this will be followed by a second movie project for Carano in December. It is unlikely and unrealistic that she could prepare for a fight with Ronda and cut to 135 while on set.

With the recent signing of standout Holly Holm there are still plenty of fights left for Rousey to take. One in particular is 4 Horsewomen killer Beth Correia. Though it appears unlikely that UFC president Dana White will book the Correia fight soon, and give Rousey a chance to avenge her friends losses we think everyone would like to see that fight.
