The Nevada State Athletic Commission has released the official medical suspensions from UFC 92, which is a necessity after MMA events usually for precautionary reasons.

Forrest Griffin has what seems to be a broken left hand, which he said in a post-fight interview he injured in round one. He has a minimum suspension until February 12, but can be cleared early with a negative x-ray.

Wanderlei Silva, who many were concerned about after receiving a devastating knockout from Quinton Jackson has been suspended until Feb. 27 with no contact until Feb. 12.

Joe Rogan during UFC 92 commentary, made the statement that once you get knocked out, it becomes easier for it to happen again the more times it occurs. If one looks at the history of fighters who have received KO’s during their MMA career, the evidence does seem to validate the statement made by Rogan.

Safety is always of the utmost importance and these fighters are laying their health, careers, and even lives on the line every time they step in the cage. We wish all the fighters from UFC 92 a speedy recovery. Here are the official medical suspensions:

* Forrest Griffin – suspended until June 27 due to possible broken left hand (can be cleared early by orthopedic doctor and negative x-ray); minimum suspension until Feb. 12 with no contact until Jan. 28 for precautionary reasons
* Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira – suspended until Feb. 27 with no contact until Feb. 12 for precautionary reasons
* Mike Massenzio – suspended until Jan. 28 with no contact until Jan. 19 for precautionary reasons
* Wanderlei Silva – suspended until Feb. 27 with no contact until Feb. 12 for precautionary reasons
* Mostapha Al Turk – suspended until June 27 due to broken nose (can be cleared early by orthopedic doctor); minimum suspension until Feb. 27 with no contact until Feb. 12 due to lacerations over left eye and on top of head
* Mike Wessel – suspended until Feb. 12 with no contact until Jan. 28 for precautionary reasons
* Mat Hamill – suspended until Feb. 12 with no contact until Jan. 28 due to cut under left eye
* Reese Andy – suspended until June 27 due to possible orbital fracture (can be cleared early by orthopedic doctor and negative CT Scan); minimum suspension until Feb. 27 with no contact until Feb. 12 for precautionary reasons
* Brad Blackburn – must be cleared by neurologist for left arm tingling/numbness before next fight; suspended until June 27 due to nasal fracture (can be cleared early by ENT doctor); minimum suspension until Feb. 12 with no contact until Jan. 28 for precautionary reasons
* Dan Evensen – suspended until June 27 due to left knee damage (can be cleared early by orthopedic doctor); minimum suspension until Jan. 28 with no contact until Jan. 19 for precautionary reasons
* Patrick Barry – suspended until Jan. 28 with no contact until Jan. 19 due to right elbow injury
