At UFC 147 we got to see The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil finals which resulted in Rony “Jason” Bezerra winning in the featherweight category and Cezar “Mutante” Ferreira taking the middleweight crown. By winning the tournaments both men have earned themselves a six figure contract with the UFC.
“UFC 147: Silva vs. Franklin II” takes place this evening at the Mineirinho Gymnasium and is headlined by a rematch between Wanderlei Silva and Rich Franklin. UFC 147 weigh-ins took place today at the Estadio Jornalista Felipe Drumond in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Rich Franklin steps in on short notice replacing Vitor Belfort to take on familiar foe and Brazilian native Wanderlei Silva. Franklin weighed in at 190 pounds while Silva weighed in at 188 pounds for their 190 pound catchweight main event bout.
The “UFC 147: Silva vs. Franklin II” pre-fight press conference took place today at Ouro Minas Palace in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Hosted by UFC executive Marshall Zelaznik, the UFC 147 fighters participating included headliners Rich Frankin and Wanderlei Silva, the co-headliners and TUF Brazil finalists.
Seven years after The Ultimate Fighter made its debut in the U.S., the UFC is taking the show international for the first time with The Ultimate Fighter – Brasil which premieres Sunday, March 25, on Rede Globo in Brazil.
