Six years ago Luke Zachrich was on The Ultimate Fighter. Fast forward to 2014 and we see him make his UFC debut on short notice in a fight that saw him not able to show fight fans what he has in his toolbox. Tonight was a different story.
Luke Zachrich cruised to victory and his first UFC win tonight using crisp striking and picking his shots to confuse Guilherme Vasconcelos. The Brazilian didn’t have much of an answer for the Buckeye.
The first round found Vasconcelos at a loss on how to answer the boxing of Zachrich. Other than a couple kicks, Guiherme was unable to mount any offense. Zachrich on the other hand was taking great angles and landing shots at will. The second round saw much of the same as Zachrich mixed body shots into to fight. Zachrich throughout the fight was faster and way more accurate than Vasconcelos.
Although he couldn’t finish, Zachrich was impressive in getting the unanimous decision win. When talking to Luke before the fight he was calm and collected knowing what was at stake. He said he could go out and have fun again, that is just what it looked like he did.
