The co-main event for UFC 173 has been postponed a week as we have learned that Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva will settle their differences on May 31st. Not only that but the fight will now take place in Brazil but no venue or city has been announced.
This news comes after there have been several reports of fighting and trouble on the set of TUF: Brazil 3. Chael also volunteered to fill in for Rashad Evans against Daniel Cormier at next week’s UFC 170 in Las Vegas but that doesn’t appear like it will take shape. He was defeated by Evans at UFC 167 and is sitting at 1-4 in his last five fights.

Wanderlei Silva hasn’t fought since March of 2013. It was then that he stopped Brian Stann in a very memorable fight in Japan. Silva has only fought five times since 2010, wining three of those bouts. He had been calling out Chael during 2013 leading to the two being booked as coaches for The Ultimate Fighter.
The venue and city of this fight should be announced shortly.
