Marina Shafir just won her fifth MMA fight as an amateur. This past Sunday night Shafir submitted Nicole Upshaw at “University of MMA: Fight Night 5” at Club Nokia in Los Angeles. Shafir is the reigning Tuff-N-Uff featherweight champion, and like her best friend Ronda Rousey before her, has been submitting all her opponents in the first round — actually, most of them within the first minute. This last win took her 1:53, but who’s counting. Shafir is part of the Glendale Fighting Club’s Four Horsewomen crew, along with Rousey, Jessamyn Duke and Shayna Baszler.
