After a couple years racking up wins outside of the UFC, Anthony “Rumble” Johnson is poised to make his return. Dana White tweeted the news earlier that Johnson will meet Phil Davis at UFC 172 in Baltimore.

Johnson was released from the UFC after losing to Vitor Belfort at UFC 142 in a fight which Johnson failed to make weight. That would turn out to be his last loss as Rumble has came out on top in six straight fights with five stoppage victories. At WSOF 8 Johnson knocked out Mike Kyle in the first round.

Phil Davis had his last fight in August. A win over Lyoto Machida extended his winning streak to four but it seemed as if Davis was having trouble booking a fight. He is one of the top light heavyweights out there with his only loss coming to Rashad Evans.

UFC 172 is starting to take shape with Jon Jones defending his light heavyweight title in the main event. It all goes down at the Baltimore Arena on April 26th live on pay per view. Stay close to ProMMAnow (www.prommanow.com) for more on this event
