Erick Silva’s original opponent for UFC his Fight Night bout, Nate Loughran, is out with an injury so Silva probably has a new opponent in Brazil next month. Combate is reporting that Takenori Sato will square off against Silva at UFC Fight Night 36.
Erick Silva started out in the UFC as the next big thing but has since gone 3-3 in the promotion and is looking to improve to a winning record. By today’s standards six fights in the UFC is a long time with the amount of fighter turnover that we have seen in the organization. Silva has two “Submission of the Night” bonuses and a “Fight of the Night” in his loss to Jon Fitch. Could he go on to make a name for himself like the legends who competed in The Top Three UFC Fights in Vegas?
UFC Fight Night 36 features a pair of middleweight fights headlining the event. Lyoto Machida makes his sophomore appearance at 185 pounds when he meets Gegard Mousasi in the main event. Francis Carmont looks to stay on the winning track against Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza.
