Despite Rebney’s persistent reaffirmations that Bellator should not be considered a minor league to the UFC, the promotion has been far from shy about signing and heavily promoting aging Zuffa cast-offs.

Now, Houston Alexander joins fellow UFC cut casualties Quinton Jackson, Tito Ortiz, and Marcus Davis on the Bellator roster, as he steps in to replace the injured Christian M’Pumbu against Vladimir Matyushenko at Bellator 99. When the cage door closes on September 13th, a combined 83 years of fence-swinging, cardio-straining fury will be put on display for all the Spike TV world to enjoy.
