“That crazy one-armed bastard!” were the words of AXS TV commentator Michael “The Voice” Schiavello after watching “Notorious” Nick Newell starch Virginia’s Adam David Mays at “XFC 19: Charlotte Showdown” Friday night at the Grady Cole Center in Charlotte, N.C.
Newell went toe-to-toe with Mays (6-4) and improved his record to a perfect 8-0 with the win. Newell started off the finishing sequence by landing several punches, an uppercut, then used a Thai-style clinch to deliver one knee, then another right to the chin, stopping Mays cold in his tracks.
