The UFC is gearing for a tremendous run of events during the second half of the year with their UFC on FOX Sports 1 debut set for August 17. They’ll have their second event on August 28, and their third event will take place on September 4. That UFC on FOX Sports 1 #3 card is starting to take shape nicely, and fights have been announced for it in the past few days
GSP retained his title and Johny Hendricks solidified himself as the number one contender. Jake Ellenberger moved into that upper tier of welterweights with his highlight reel knockout win over Nate Marquardt. Rick Story put himself back on the map with a win against Quinn Mulhern. It was a good event that should produce some great fights moving forward. Let’s put our UFC matchmaker hat on once again
The UFC 158: GSP vs. Diaz event is almost upon us as it’s set to take place on Saturday night in Montreal, Canada. It should be another huge event for the UFC PPV wise, and also is what appears to be a stacked card on paper as well. There are a number of questions that have piqued my interest going into this event.
The UFC on FUEL TV 4 event will feature a bantamweight fight between TUF finalist TJ Dillashaw and Vaughn Lee. Dillashaw is coming off his most dominant performance in the octagon and Lee is coming off a huge win against Japanese star Kid Yamamoto. The winner moves one more step up the bantamweight ladder.
