TMZ is reporting that Jon Jones and GSP were at the Super Bowl at the same time in the same room and Jon didn’t want to have anything to do with the Canadian. The current light heavyweight champion Jones snubbed GSP and pretty much avoided contact purposely according to eyewitnesses. Maybe it’s sharing the spot light or maybe it’s wanting to distance himself from GSP after his departure from the UFC?
Anthony Johnson (16-4) will return to the UFC after a 2 year absence to face Phil Davis at UFC 172 in a light heavyweight bout. Johnson competed in the UFC as a welterweight primarily before missing weight repeatedly and ultimately being released from the UFC following a first round submission loss against Vitor Belfort at UFC 142.
