Ray Sefo and his World Series of Fighting are gearing up for their seventh event this weekend but WSOF 8 now has a a time and place. Hollywood , Florida will play host to the event and the main event will featured a lightweight championship fight.
ProMMAnow.com reporter Dan “The Wolfman” Theodore caught up with Gesias “JZ” Cavalcante (18-7-1, 2 NC) following his third round TKO win over Tyson Griffin (16-7) Saturday night at World Series of Fighting 4 at Citizens Bank Arena in Ontario, Calif.
World Series of Fighting 4 takes place this evening at Citizens Bank Arena in Ontario, Calif., and features a light heavyweight main event between K-1 legend Tyrone Spong (1-0), in just his second pro MMA bout, taking on knockout artist Angel DeAnda (11-2).
The World Series of Fighting 2 event that took place on Saturday night peaked with 332,000 live NBC Sports Network viewers, a 46 percent increase from the promotion’s inaugural event in November that peaked with 228,000 viewers.
MMA veteran Gesias “JZ” Cavalcante took on MMA prospect Justin Gaethje at the World Series of Fighting 2 event in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on Saturday night. There where many fans that had never heard of Gaethje prior to the fight, but after a very good performance and a nasty fight ending cut he induced on Cavalcante’s forehead, that will probably change from here on out.
World Series of Fighting held their second event Saturday night at the Revel in Atlantic City, N.J. The main event saw former UFC welterweight Anthony Johnson put on several pounds to take on former UFC champ Andrei Arlovski in a heavyweight headliner. The weigh-ins for World Series of Fighting (WSOF) 2 took place Friday at the Revel in Atlantic City, N.J., the same location hosting Saturday’s fight card headlined by a heavyweight match-up between Andrei “The Pit Bull” Arlovski vs. Anthony “Rumble” Johnson.
Arlovski weighed in at 245.5 pounds, while Johnson, a former UFC welterweight, tipped the scales at 230.3 pounds. Co-headliner Marlon Moraes weighed in at 135.5 pounds, while his opponent Tyson Nam weighed in at 135.2 pounds.

Weigh-ins for “Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson” took place Friday in Hoffman Estates, Ill, in preparation for Saturday night’s fights at the Sears Centre which will air LIVE on Showtime at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
