JoshCopelandUFC has just signed some (much needed) exciting new talent to their heavyweight division. Undefeated RFA heavyweight champ Josh “Cuddly Bear” Copeland (9-0) comes in rocking a nine fight winning streak — with only two going the distance.

Copeland’s first round TKO win over Jan Jorgensen (7-1) for the title at RFA 16 last month sealed the deal for the Denver fighter.

Baxter Bulletin reports:

“Josh “Cuddly Bear” Copeland, a former Mountain Home resident and 2002 graduate of Mountain Home High School, recently received news every mixed martial artist dreams of when the Ultimate Fighting Championship offered him a four-fight contract.

“The matchmaker for the UFC, Joe Silva, told my manager the earliest they would be able to get me in is November,” Copeland said, “which is fine for me. I’ve got a busy summer. I have a few injuries to heal from, that way I can start camp healthy and ready to go.”

Josh met TUF 10 veteran Justin Wren in college in Texas, then moved with him to Colorado to train at Grudge after filming the show. Hear our recent PMN Radio interview with “Cuddly Bear” from a few weeks back, just before his RFA title fight, to learn more about the UFC’s newest heavyweight.
