Steve Borden, aka Sting covers a range of topics in a new interview posted by WWE on their Youtube channel. In this Video he speaks about his relationship with Vince McMahon and the WWE. Vince, and more recently HHH, have attempted to court Sting in to signing with the WWE. This has gone on since WCW was purchased by wrestling’s premier organization, but they never managed to get Sting to sign.

In this interview Sting said it was surreal and he often thought about going to WWE over the years. He came close a few times after good conversations withVince McMahon. Sting said Vince always told him that someday they would do business, but for Steve the timing was never right. He said it was now or never. Sting brought up the idea of facing guys like Randy Orton, John Cena, Triple H, and The Rock. All of which would be phenomenal match-ups, but many fans are clamoring for a Sting vs. Bray Wyatt match. Given the fact that Sting is so religious and Wyatt is cult leader type character and they both are good in the ring and on the microphone. According to our sources, at this time John Cena has not been mentioned as a possible opponent for Sting backstage.

Allegedly, Sting had issues in the past with the sexuality, language, and violence being presented by WWE since he is a devout christian. This has reportedly been his main reason for not signing. Want proof? Check out these clips of Sting, the Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase, Road Warrior Animal, and Shawn Michaels at an over the top, and somewhat awkward faith based wrestling show held in New Jersey. Sting is chained in the ring and Jesus is brought out on a cross at one point.

Maybe WWE’s PG product is finally a match for him and we finally get that long awaited run by “The Icon”. This is a big deal for the WWE and for us as fans. ProMMANow will be covering Sting news as it develops.
