In an email received earlier today, Keith Kizer of the Nevada State Athletic Commission stated all the fighters from UFC 160 had tested negative during the screening process except for bantamweight Brian Bowles. Bowles registered a positive test of  over 20-to-1 testosterone-to-epitestosterone ratio. Kizer advised a complaint was forthcoming.

Bowles (10-3) was defeated by George Roop at UFC 160 by knockout. This was after an 18 month layoff. His last win came at UFC 132 in July of 2012. The former WEC champion will have the right to appeal the decision but it appears a suspension is looming. Needless to say it had to be devastating news for Bowles.

In the day of TRT and much talk about the UFC  cracking down on performance enhancing drugs it still seems that this type of activity is prevalent among the fighters and not limited to a certain weight class. No statement has been issued from the Bowles camp as of yet. Stay close to ProMMAnow (www.prommanow.com) for the latest developments.
