[ads1]UFC 160 resultsUFC 160: Velasquez vs. Bigfoot 2” takes place this evening at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and is headlined with a heavyweight championship bout between current title-holder Cain Velasquez and number one contender Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva.

The two first fought in May of last year with Velasquez winning via first round TKO. However, that fight was not for the title and “Bigfoot” has knocked out two straight opponents since then to earn his shot at gold.

Tonight’s first preliminary card fight kicks off at 6:35 p.m. ET (3:35 p.m. PT) and streams live on Facebook, moving to the FX-televised portion of the card at 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. PT). The UFC 160 Pay-Per-View main card starts at 10 p.m. ET (7 p.m. PT).

Round 1 -Leg kick Payan, one two punch. Leg kick. Stephens pressing forward, leg kick accidentally lands in the groin area and time is called. Leg kick from Stephens, inside then outside. High kick. Leg kick from Payan. Stephens shoots, stuffed. Trade leg kicks. Leg kick Stephens. Nice right to body from Payan, then an overhand right stuns Stephens, he shakes his head no. Stephens shoots and Payan jumps on a guillotine, Stephens pops his head out, inside full guard. Payan staying active from bottom, throwing elbows and now lands a nice upkick, goes for an armbar, scramble to their feet, Stephens with a body lock against the cage, tries to drag him back down but Payan holds the cage. Payan goes for a standing guillotine, holding it, but Stephens gets the takedown. Lands an uppercut and a knee as Payan gets back up. They square up. Leg kick Stephens, right hand from Payan. High kick. Leg kick from Stephens inside. Big right hand from Stephens backs Payan up, he throws back with a one two. Leg kick Stephens. Leg kick Payan. Right counter from Payan. Leg kick Stephens, then a big right hand, knee and a kick. 10-9 Stephens. Payan was cut in the round with the elbow on the ground.

Round 2 – Big right from Stephens to start. Leg kick Payan. Leg kick Payan again. Lots of empty seats. Leg kick Payan, he checks one. Inside leg kick from Stephens. Right hand, then the takedown from Stephens. Payan’s back to the cage as he tries to get up, and he does. Stephens holding the single, takes an elbow to the side of the head but turns the corner with the leg and Payan is on his back, the cut on his head is opened up and bleeding pretty bad. Elbow from Stephens, couple body shots and more elbows. Blood all in Payan’s eyes. He throws his legs up for an armbar but no dice. Stephens postures up, takes an upkick, but lays down in side mount, then full mount. Payan gives up his back, Stephens gets a body triangle and goes for a face crank, lets it go and searches for the neck. Rogan says its one of the bloodiest fights he can recall. Wow, there is a heavy pool of blood and its dripping like a faucet as Payan is on his knees with Stephens on his back. Rogan thinks maybe they should call in a doctor. Knee to the body from Stephens. “That’s not a normal puddle of blood, that is serious,” Rogan says. Payan’s corner is cussing at him. 10-9 Stephens.

Round 3 – I don’t think they cleaned the blood up, still see the pool. Right from Stephens, leg kick. One two, body kick from Payan. Payan is still in there. Left, right, left from Stephens low and high. Head kick follows and it lands. Left hook from Payan. Jam from Stephens. One two. This is a tall order for Payan’s UFC debut. Leg kick from Payan. Stephens shoots, body lock, picks him up and puts him down. Payan on his knees, knees to the kidney’s from Stephens. Blood still dripping from Payan’s head. Kind of fitting the logo I used for this article…. they are both covered with blood — Payan’s blood. Okay they did wipe the blood up, but it still looks like a murder scene. Round 1 – Head kick misses by Roop. Right counter from Bowles. Straight right follows. Front kick, Thai clinch and knee from Roop to the face. Right to body from Bowles. High kick from Roop, leg kick. Been a LONG time since we’ve seen Bowles. Nice right uppercut from Roop but Bowles stuns him with a right hand, follows up with a couple more. Roop seems okay, right hand to the body. Right from Roop. High kick checked. Body kick, then head kick from Roop. One two high kick from Roop. Bowles’ mouth bleeding. Overhand right from Bowles connects. Nice body head combo. High kick Roop. Nice right, then a head kick scores for Roop. Nice leg kick. Nice left to the body, right to the face from Bowles and Roop goes down. Bowles jumps on a guillotine, he sweeps and now has a mounted guillotine, he lets it go with 30 seconds left. Bowles still in full mount, drops an elbow. Roop gets to a half butterfly but ends the round on the bottom. 10-9 Bowles. Roop’s corner tells him he still won the round… no way.

Round 2 – Right hook from Bowles. Left jab from Roop, nice high kick scores. Body kick. Leg kick. Front kick. One two combo from Roop. One two from Bowles. Body kick from Roop, he drops Bowles with a stiff left jab. He follows up with an uppercut as Bowles gets to his knees. Bowles goes down and tries to cover up but Roop swarms Bowles with punches and the ref saves him. Roop jumps on the cage and pulls his teammate into the cage and ground and pounds him. Check it:

Nah-Shon Burrell vs. Stephen Thompson

Round 1 – Facebook stream having some serious problems. Finally get an image around the 3:00 mark of round one. Thompson has Burrell against the cage, seems to be looking for a takedown which is kind of odd. With one minute left in the round Thompson gets a takedown, Burrell hops right up, clinched against the cage. Body shot from Thompson. Knee to body. Burrell comes after Thompson with heavy shots as he backs away before the bell. Burrell’s corner told him Thompson may have won the round.

Round 2 – Nice powerful body kick from Thompson. Burrell backs him to the cage, knee to body, grabs a Thai clinch but Thompson breaks away. Nice body shot from Thompson. Knee from Burrell, Thompson backs him to the cage. Thompson backs out as Burrell stalks. Thompson lands a couple punch combos as Burrell covers up. Thompson turns him around to the cage. Pressing on him. Burrell pushes him away. Body kick, high kick from Thompson. They exchange knees. Clinched against the cage. Knee from Thompson on the break. Body head combo from Thompson. Burrell stalking, swings a big hook, Thompson ducks under with the shot but Burrell stays upright. Thompson leaning on him against the cage, Burrell spins him around, Thompson backs out with a couple punches. Burrell lands a nice uppercut. Thompson eats another uppercut after landing some nice kicks. Leg kick Burrell, checks one of Thompson’s. Knee to head from Burrell. Body shot from Thompson after throwing some more nice kicks, including a wheel kick. Burrell misses a spinning elbow and Burrell pushes him to the cage. They exchange knees to body. 10-9 Thompson.

Round 3 – Thompson’s corner was calling for more arm kicks. Nice right hand over the top from Burrell, left hook. Thompson escapes. Clinch, knee from Burrell. Thompson pushes him to the cage. Knee from Burrell. Another. They separate, Burrell stalks. High, low, mid kick from Thompson, front kick, leg kick. One two body kick from Burrell. Not alot of sting on Thompson’s kicks right now. Left hook from Thompson. Thompson pushes him to the cage. Burrell baks out and stuns Thompson with a big left hook that spins him around. Lands a right. Round kick to the face from Thompson. Left hook Burrell. Again. Thompson shoots, gets the takedown with just under 2:00 to go. Burrell gets right up. Thompson seems to be tiring. Clinch, knee from Thompson. Uppercut Burrell. Thompson’s hands down. Right from Burrell. One two to the body from Thompson. Sloppy shot from Thompson, shoved aside. Burrell is letting him off the hook. Flying knee attempt from Burrell. Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Abel Trujillo

Round 1 – No glove touching. Nice right from Trujillo. Looks like they got the canvas cleaned up a bit. One two from Trujillo. Takedown from Trujillo. High guard from Khabib, Locks on an omoplata, Trujillo rolls, ends up in side mount, now half guard. Khabib very active and gets to his feet, pulls Trujillo down, riding his back as he gets to his knees, then feet, suplex from Kabib. Trujillo gets up but gets slammed again. He gets back up, Khabib still holding a body lock, another suplex. Trujillo back up but Khabib has never let go of him, gets another takedown, and another. Trujillo back up, Khabib still has the body lock and pulls him back down. Trujillo finally gets free after another takedown, ends up on top but no time to rest as Khabib locks up a triangle, pulls the head down, rolls for the mounted triangle. Switches to an armbar with 10 seconds left, armbar/triangle combo and he’s saved by the bell. 10-9 Khabib. Khabib’s grappling is phenomenal.

Round 2 – Khabib’s teammate outside the cage is wearing that crazy wig he wore at weigh ins. Big left hook from Khabib, gets a body lock from behind, trip takedown, Trujillo spins out, to his feet, stuns Khabib with a big right. Khabib lands a huge right hand that sounded like a gun, grabs the body lock, trips him to the ground. Trujillo gets to his knees. Big knee to the thigh from Khabib. Trujillo is up, body lock/trip takedown from Khabib, takes his back, flattens him out with a body triangle, now riding his back, Trujillo gets up. Khabib with another body lock slam, uppercut under the arm as Trujillo gets up. They scramble, Trujillo gets a mount for about .2 seconds. Khabib with another takedown, riding his back. Trujillo crawls to the cage. One minute to go. Trujillo gets to his feet. Khabib pulls him back down with the body lock. Two shots to the chin from Khabib. This has to be incredibly frustrating for Trujillo. 10-9 Khabib.

Round 3 – Left hook from Trujillo, body lock takedown from Khabib. Trujillo gets to his feet but Khabib is on him like stink on poop and is taken back down. Repeat. Repeat. Khabib with a big knee to the thigh. Another takedown by Khabib. Trujillo gets up, he asks the ref a few times for help as if Khabib is doing nothing. He is doing something. He’s dominating him. Trujillo’s corner trying to encourage him not to give up. Khabib lands some punches as Trujillo tries getting up. He gets to his feet but Khabib suplexes him, lands some punches. Trujillo gets up, and Khabib puts him back down, more punches, over and over and over. What makes this crazier is Trujillo was a pretty damn good collegiate wrestler. Trujillo tries rolling out of it but Khabib is right back on him for another suplex. Trujillo back up, but gets put right back down. Khabib doesn’t even look tired! This is why Khabib Nurmagomedov is undefeated at 20-0 — my God, who is going to want to fight this guy?

Colton Smith vs. Robert Whittaker

Round 1 – Whittaker is the TUF Smashes winner. Smith is the TUF 16 winner. Whittaker almost times an uppercut as Smith shoots in. Smith shoots, stuffed. Whittaker counters with some nice jabs and punches as Smith tries shooting in again. Nice right counter from Smith. Smith clinches briefly, shrugged aside. Body kick from Smith. Right from Whittaker. Left jab from Whittaker, jab from Whittaker. Big leg kick Smith. The whole round Whittaker has had his right hand cocked with his left hand hanging straight down. Right from Smith. High kick from Smith. Nice jab from Whittaker. One two from Smith. He shoots, stuffed, eats a combo. Smith fires back, shoots again, stuffed. Leg kick Smith. One two Whittaker. Superman punch scores for Smith. Nice big overhand right from Smith, he then drops him with another punch. Smith goes for a kimura, Whittaker rolls and is back to his feet with that hand cocked in what is his default position. 10-9 Smith.

Round 2 – Touch gloves. Overhand right from Smith but Whittaker counters with a big right, then an uppercut. He got knocked to his knees but gets right up and is chasing Whittaker and getting tagged in the process. They reset. Hand cocked. Smith circling the outside, he lands a nice one two, leg kick. Nice right from Smith, counter left from Whittaker. No matter how many times Whittaker pays for having that left hand hanging down, he more often than not pays Smith right back for it. Counter one two from Whittaker. Smith with the takedown attempt but Whittaker avoids going down completely. They square back up. Right from Smith. He circles, overhand right. Ref calls time after an apparent low blow. Back at it. Body kick from Smith. Two left hook counters from Whittaker as Smith tries rushing in. Nice left hook counter fro Whittaker, again, again. Then a right as Smith shoots from the outside. Smith is cut under his right eye and bleeding. Smith frustrated trying to rush in and gets tagged with more big punches before the bell. 10-9 Whittaker.

Round 3 – Whittaker’s face looks untouched. Smith’s face is a mess. Smith eats three jabs as he tries coming forward. Smith tries rushing in again with punches and gets dropped with another perfectly timed left hook. Whittaker follows up on the ground and the ref steps in very quickly. Definite early stoppage but we saw how the fight was going. Still, you need to let them fight it out.

Dennis Bermudez vs. Max Holloway

Round 1 – Jab from Holloway. Front kick. Bermudez shoots for a single. Holoway defends with a standing guillotine choke, lets it go. Nice straight right from Holloway. Nice left jab. He circles back and forth on the outside. Working a nice jab keeping Bermudez at bay. Angles and footwork. Jab. Avoiding Bermudez’s punches. Nice left right from Bermudez, big leg kick, another one on the inside this time. Bermudez shoots, Holloway again defends with a guillotine attempt. Bermudez presses him to the cage, Holloway escapes. Huge leg kick from Bermudez. Bermudez ducks down and he gets caught with a spinning back kick right to the chin. He shoots, stuffed and Holloway touches him up with punches, a knee. Against the cage, body lock from Bermudez. Right hand from Holloway on the break. Right from Holloway, spinning back kick to the gut knocks Bermudez back. Right from Bermudez. Holloway tries one more spin kick, then another to the head and it knocks Bermudez down. He’s back up before the bell. Holloway looking good and he takes it 10-9.

Round 2 – Touch gloves. Bermudez shoots, gets the takedown but Holloway takes his back, Bermudez gets up, Holloway stands, backs up and lands a head kick. Bermudez seems okay and comes forward. Knee, right hand from Holloway. Nice inside leg kick from Bermudez. Superman punch, high kick attempt. High kick from Holloway blocked. Jab from Bermudez. Nice left low right high combo from Holloway. Nice one two from Holloway, hands looking great. Left hand by Bermudez then , leg kick stumbles Holloway. Big leg kick Bermudez. Inside leg kick. Body kick Holloway. Spinning back kick. Low/high kick from Holloway. One two punch. Nice one two then just misses a spinning kick that almost takes Bermudez’s head off. Bermudez liked that, touch gloves. Bermudez with a nice takedown before the bell, inside full guard attacking. Holloway looking for an arm. 10-9 Holloway.

Round 3 – Front kick Bermudez, body kick. Pushing the pace. Grabs a leg, gets a takedown. Holloway gets right up, knee on the break. Nice one two body shots from Holloway. They trade jabs. Holloway eats a big leg kick, then a nice left to the body from Bermudez. Bermudez gets another takedown, using a trip but Holloway is right back up. The reset. Bermudez pressing with punch combos. Holloway slowing a bit. He shoots, stuffed. Leg kick from Bermudez, again. Holloway tags him. Takedown from Bermudez, inside full guard with 1:30 left. Bermudez lands some nice elbows, he postures up and lands a few nice punches. Holloway is cut and bleeding. Bermudez in half guard now. Holloway has a huge hematoma on his head. Bermudez is targeting it with elbows. 10-9 Bermudez and 29-28 for Holloway as I see it.

Mike Pyle vs. Rick Story

Round 1 – Front kick Pyle. Left hook Story. Knee to body from Pyle, but Story throws him to the ground. Body shots from Story. Pyle with full guard. Heavy body shots from Story. High guard from Pyle, looking for an arm. Elbow off his back from Pyle, goes for an arm, but Story spins out. Story landed a nice punch right before that. There are those who feel Pyle is on the level with Demain Maia with his BJJ. Story lands a few left hands. Body shots, Pyle gets to his feet and Story unloads with body shots. Front kick Pyle. Huge overhand left, then body shots from Story. Leg kick Pyle. Right to the body, left to the head drops Pyle straight back. Story tries to finish, swarms Pyle. Thankfully Mazzagatti doesn’t stop it and Pyle wraps Story up with full guard. Story lands a couple nice elbows. Wow! 10-9 Story. Many a man would have been KO’d with that punch.

Round 2 – Story comes out quick to the center. Inside leg kick Pyle. Right to body from Story. Left hook high, right hook body from Story. Pyle seems a bit tentative now. Lands a leg kick, Story comes in, Pyle grabs a Thai clinch and knee. Story gets the takedown. Pyle has full guard, goes for a kimura, cranking it. Story defends with his knee and is safe. Pyle landing short punches off his back. Story postures up, Pyle controlling his wrist. Story drops a couple elbows but not doing much at all really, surprised there hasn’t been a standup. 10-9 Story.

Round 3 – Inside leg kick Pyle. Left to head, right to body combo from Story. Right from Pyle. Knee from Pyle, slips to the ground, back up. Front kick to the chest from Pyle, working the jab, front kick to chest. Story’s punches have gotten a lot slower. Thai clinch, knee from Pyle, elbow lands and it backs Story up. Clinch, Story pushes him to the cage. Pyle lands a nice knee and elbow on the break, backs Story up. Two more elbows from Pyle. One two body shots from Story. Story drops levels for the shot. Couple elbows to the side of the head from Pyle. Story with a body lock, knees to thighs as Pyle puts one hand on the ground, both hands. Pyle stands up, body shots from Story but Pyle lands some knees. Story’s face is bloody. Pyle tees off with punches. Story fires back and gets a takedown that may have just saved him. Pyle goes for an arm, sweeps him, takes Story’s back, 10 seconds left, Pyle goes for an arm. Great fight but Story won it two rounds to one as I see it. Who knows with these crazy judges. OMG…

Body jab Noons. High kick Cowboy. Big leg kick Noons. High kick checked. Body jab Noons. Hard body kick Cowboy. Leg kick Noons. Left hook from Cowboy. Noons bleeding out of his eye. Leg kick Cowboy. Leg kick Cowboy. Not sure where Noon’s boxing is. Cowboy with the takedown lands an uppercut as Noon gets to his feet. Leg kick Noons. Big leg kick makes Noons change his stance. Body shot from Noons. Knee from Cowboy. Jab from Noons, again. Nice right from Noons, now letting his hands go a little. Left from Cowboy. Leg kick Noons. Round 2 – Takedown from Cowboy right away. Noons escapes as Cowboy gets his back. Eats a knee on the way up. Noons stalking. Front kick Cowboy. Left from Cowboy. Jab from Cowboy, right hand. Right from Noons. Body combo from Noons but pays for it. Noons is obviously having a big adrenaline dump. He’s looking VERY sloppy. Flat-footed and nothing on his punches. Cowboy is teeing off on him. Body kick Cowboy. Nice right to the body left to the head from Noons. Cowboy shoots, stuffed, but lands a knee to the head on the way up. Nice left from Noons. He’s trying to make this a brawl with Cerrone, lands a spinning backfist that wobbles Cowboy a bit. Noons times a flying knee to the body as Cowboy shoots. He puts Noons on his back. Cowboy on top in half guard, lands some hammerfists and punches. Couple elbows before the bell. 10-9 Cowboy.

Round 3 – KJ said he couldn’t see out of his eye and one of the commission people heard him asking if he wanted to continue. He said of course. Body shots from Noons. Big leg kick from Cowboy. Jab, jab, left hook. Leg kick Noons. Big body kick Cerrone. Front kick. Noons plodding. Body kick, left hook. Leg kick. Head kick from Cowboy. Noons lands a big body, head, body combo and Cowboy puts him down. Elbow and ground and pound from Cowboy. Big elbows and Noons is bleeding pretty good. His head is sliced up. Noons tries to get up but Cowboy keeps him down. Cowboy slicing and dicing with these elbows. Noons throwing sharp elbows off his back as well to the top of the head. Cowboy moves to half guard. Cowboy gets to side control. 45 seconds left. Ref asks him if he can see. Cowboy works from side control until the bell. 10-9 and 30-27 for Cowboy as I see it. Who knows with these crazy judges though. It really wasn’t close.

Gray Maynard vs. T.J. Grant

Round 1 – Left hook from Gray, again. Big uppercut. Overhand right, then a left hook. Jab from Grant. Maynard’s hands looking good. Right hand. Right from TJ, another right from Gray. Counter right from TJ. big right from Grant. Backs Gray up, knee. Right from Grant drops Gray. Grant attacks with big punches, a knee. Maynard goes down but somehow gets back up and gets put down again. Wow! TJ Grant just earned himself a title shot. We’ve never seen anyone beat Gray Maynard up like that — well, since Frankie Edgar. TJ’s such a big lightweight people are going to have a hard time with him. He’s undefeated at 155 lbs. at 5-0.

Glover Teixeira vs. James Te Huna

Round 1 – They come out swinging. Glover shoots for a single, stuffed, hopping, Glover lands a big right. Leg kick from Te Huna, again, just misses some big uppercuts. Glover gets the takedown. On top in half guard. Glover trying to pass. Full guard from Te Huna. Glover staying busy, with strikes, gets to half guard. Te Huna gets to his feet though. Glover jumps for a guillotine and Te Huna taps out!! Glover walks over and points at Mike Tyson, tells him he’s a fan. Mike is sitting with Liddell. Glover vs. Jon Jones, who wants it? Cain drops Bigfoot with a left jab with perfect straight right right behind it. Bigfoot drops to his knees. Cain follows up with several shots, tries to cover up, tries to get up but gets tagged and goes face down and the ref stops it.

Well, that was a bit of a letdown… the main event I mean. Wish it would have been more competitive. The co-main event made up for it though.
