mfcFighter weigh-ins for “MFC 37: True Grit” took place today in preparation for Friday’s fight card at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

The event, which will broadcast LIVE on AXStv, with prelims streaming on Facebook, features Ryan Benoit (6-1) vs. Anthony Birchak (9-1) in the main event. The two bantamweights made weight without issue with Benoit coming in at 135.2 pounds and Birchak weighing in at 135.8 pounds.

The bout will mark the organization’s first-ever 135-pound fight and the winner will earn themselves a title shot later this year.

MFC 37 lost it’s originally scheduled heavyweight title fight main event earlier this week when it was announced Chris Barnett had failed his pre-fight medicals due to a severe eye injury. His opponent, Smealinho Rama is now scheduled to fight for the title at MFC’s next event.
