Dennis Hallman was scheduled to fight Thiago Tavares at UFC on FX 5 on Friday. Hallman did not make weight, the fight did not happen and he was released from the organization.

UFC President Dana White discussed the issue with ProMMAnow.com and a small group of reporters following the post-fight press conference, but would only say that Hallman was having some severe personal issues and that they had paid him his show and win money even though he did not fight.

Fellow UFC vet Frank Trigg of MMAOddsbreaker spoke with Hallman about the situation, and said because the UFC had paid him his show and win money  even though they released him, he knew there was a lot more to the story.

Hallman explains the whole situation in this one-on-one with Trigg:

Toe to Toe With Trigg: Frank Trigg’s Exclusive Interview with UFC Fighter Dennis Hallman<p><a href=”http://media.uqast.com/uqastprod/.mov” data-mce-href=”http://media.uqast.com/uqastprod/.mov”><img src=”http://http://uqastprod.s3.amazonaws.com/author_media/876/4816_FrankTrigg.jpg” alt=”Toe to Toe With Trigg: Frank Trigg’s Exclusive Interview with UFC Fighter Dennis Hallman” width=”600″ height=”320″ data-mce-src=”http://http://uqastprod.s3.amazonaws.com/author_media/876/4816_FrankTrigg.jpg” /></a></p><p><br /></p>That’s a tough one. You can’t help but feel for the guy, and in my book, he definitely without a doubt gets a pass — not only on not making weight — but even Dana said he wouldn’t have wanted Dennis to fight under these circumstances.

I think it was very honorable of the UFC to pay him his show and win money. As Trigg said, things could get quite expensive with lawyers fees and what  not, depending on how it all plays out.

Best of luck Mr. Hallman and hope to see you back inside the Octagon.
