Josh Thornburg (6-2), of Stockton, Calif., will step in for an injured Conor Heun to fight James Terry (9-2), of Livermore, Calif., in a 165-pound televised catchweight bout at Strikeforce Challengers 15.

Strikeforce Challengers 15 will take place at Stockton Arena in Stockton, Calif., on Friday, April 1, and will air LIVE on Showtime at 11 p.m. ET/PT (delayed on West Coast).

Thornburg is a Cesar Gracie Fight Team product and had submitted two opponents in a row before losing a unanimous decision against Roger Bowling at “Feijao vs. Henderson” earlier this month in what was his Strikeforce debut.

Thornburg commented on his loss to Bowling and getting the opportunity to get right back on the saddle:

“There’s no such thing as a moral victory and I was very disappointed I couldn’t get it done (against Bowling). Going in, I was super confident. But I appreciate that I’m getting a chance to come right back and fight in my hometown on SHOWTIME.’’

Terry is a Cung Le student and this will mark his sixth Strikeforce bout. He holds Strikeforce wins over Zac Bucia (twice), David Marshall, and most recently, a first round TKO over Lucas Gamaza at “Diaz vs. Cyborg” back in January.

The Strikeforce Challengers 15 main event will feature Justin “The Silverback’’ Wilcox (10-3) vs. Rodrigo Damm (9-4) in a lightweight bout.

Other Showtime televised bouts include 2008 Judo Olympic Gold Medalist Satoshi Ishii (4-1) vs. Scott Lighty (6-1), David “Tarzan” Douglas (6-2) vs. Caros “The Future” Fodor (7-2), and Tarzan’s twin brother, Damian Douglas (3-1) vs. Wayne Phillips (5-3).
