According to “the Junkie” Nick Diaz failed to make weight for tonight’s Elite XC event in Hawaii that is to air on Showtime at 9 pm CST.  Apparantly, Nick notified officials ahead of time and his opponent, Muhsin Corbbrey, has agreed to fight at a catch-weight of 168 lbs.  Not making weight seems to be a real trend these days.  That’s three weekends in a row a professional MMA athlete has not made weight in at a major event.  What’s the deal? Unfortunately, Nick wins the award this month for “most overweight” coming in nine pounds over the 160 pound limit. That’s more than Thiago Alves and Gina Carano’s overweight poundage put together. Details on why Nick was unable to make the weight requirement is not yet known. The good news is the fight will go on. I just hope Nick is in good fighting condition.
