The UFC has announced five more fights for the upcoming UFC on FOX 2 event that will take place on January 28th, in Chicago. The event will be headlined by former UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans as he’ll take on rising contender Phil Davis. The co-main event will be a #1 contender middleweight bout between Chael Sonnen and Mark Munoz with the winner fighting Anderson Silva for the UFC middleweight title later this year.

The five additional bouts announced by the UFC website are as follows:

  • Paul Sass vs. Evan Dunham
  • Michael Johnson vs. Cody McKenzie
  • Cub Swanson vs. George Roop
  • Eddie Wineland vs. Demetrious Johnson
  • Jon Olav-Einemo vs. Mike Russow

Paul Sass is a undefeated lightweight (12-0) with 11 wins via submission. He was last seen in action defeating TUF finalist Michael Johnson this past October. He’ll be taking on Evan Dunham (12-2) who is coming off a unanimous decision win over TUF fighter Shamar Bailey this past September.

Michael Johnson (9-6) is coming off the aforementioned loss to Paul Sass this past October. He’ll be taking on another TUF fighter in Cody McKenzie (12-2) in a lightweight fight that could possibly see the loser released from the promotion. McKenzie has dropped two fights in a row via submission.

Cub Swanson (15-5) will take on George Roop (12-8) in a featherweight scrap. Swanson is coming off a submission loss to Ricardo Lamas on the first UFC on Fox show. Roop is coming off a split decision loss to highly ranked Hatsu Hioki.

Eddie Wineland (18-8) will take on Demetrious Johnson (9-2) in a bantamweight fight. Wineland is coming off back to back decision losses to top bantamweight teammates Joseph Benavidez and Urijah Faber. Johnson is coming off a unanimous decision loss in his title shot against Dominick Cruz this past October.

Jon Olav-Einemo (6-2) will take on Mike Russow (14-1) in a heavyweight scrap. Olav-Einemo is coming off a TKO loss to Dave Herman in what turned out to be an absolute war back at UFC 131. Russow is coming off a TKO win over Jon Madsen in March of this year.

Also rumored for this event is Charles Oliveira vs. Eric Wisely, but this fight has not been announced by the UFC at the present time.
