Jason “Mayhem” Miller submits Kala Hose in “Kingdom MMA” main event

Jason “Mayhem” Miller returned to the ring Saturday night, April 18th, against Kala “Kolohe” Hose at the Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu, Hawaii in a middleweight match up in the inaugural event for the “Kingdom MMA” promotion.

Miller submitted Hose in the main event by rear naked choke at 2:23 of round number one. The fight did not stay long on the feet as Miller shot in early for the take down. Once on the ground, he mounted Hose and landed some vicious hammer fists causing the Hawaiian to give up his back, which then allowed Miller to sink in the choke.

After the fight, Miller thanked the Hawaiian crowd and announced his next fight would be in the DREAM organization. He also said people should check him out on Twitter (www.twitter.com/mayhemmiller).

Jason “Mayhem” Miller vs. Kala “Kolohe” Hose rescheduled for April 18th

Kingdom MMA’s inaugural event featuring Mayhem Miller vs. Kala ‘Kalohe’ Hose, has been postponed until April 18th due to a little known licensing rule in Hawaii. It seems the Department of Commerce & Consumer Affairs (DCCA), the people who regulate all MMA events in Hawaii, have a new rule that all pro fighters must get HEP/HIV testing and physical clearance by a HAWAIIAN doctor.

Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller, who lives on the mainland (continental United States), has already been cleared by a doctor in the ‘lower 48’, which the DCCA says they will not accept. So, Miller is currently being evaluated and tested by a Hawaiian physician, which pushes the fight card back to the nearest available date at the Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu, April 18th.

The return of Kalib Starnes – PRO MMA exclusive

by:  Jack Bratcher

The Ultimate Fighter season 3 and UFC veteran, Kalib Starnes will be making his return to the ring on November 15th when he faces Kala “Kolohe” Hose at Destiny MMA’s:  Pier Fighter 1 in Hawaii.

We last saw Kalib at UFC 83 where he fought Nate Quarry to a memorable three round decision.  Only, it was memorable for certain reasons most people would not consider beneficial.

I was very interested to see how Kalib had been dealing with life outside the UFC and all of the negative press.

It’s always easy for a person to keep focused on the positive things when life is sunshine and roses.

Kalib Starnes returns to action against Kala “Kolohe” Hose in Hawaii

by: Jack Bratcher

UFC veteran and TUF 3 cast member, Kalib Starnes will be stepping back into the MMA ring on November 15 where he will be fighting the Icon Middleweight Champion, Kala “Kolohe” Hose in Hawaii on the Destiny MMA organization’s main event.

Starnes’ last fight in the UFC was back in April of this year when he fought Nate Quarry at UFC 83 in one of the most “interesting” fights in MMA history. Starnes’ technique and gameplan frustrated Quarry to the point he started coming at Starnes with one arm outstretched and one hand covering his face in a mocking gesture. Quarry was able to pull off a unanimous decision despite the unorthodox styles shown by both fighters.

Starnes’ opponent on November 15th will be the pride of Hawaii, Kala Hose, whose most notable win was against Phil Baroni back in March in an Icon Sport Middleweight Title fight where he TKO’d the New York Badass early in the fifth round and won the vacant title. Hose’s most recent fight was in August where he defended his Icon belt against Rolando Dominique in a second round TKO victory.
