Finally some good news.
Surging welterweight contender Gilbert Burns was pulled from UFC 251 meaning he lost some momentum and a shot at welterweight champion and teammate Kamaru Usman. The reason he was pulled was COVID-19 proving once again that no one is immune.
I sympathize with what he had to go through. The roller coaster of emotions and fear of just how bad the virus might be. It must not of been that bad after all. Apparently, Gilbert doesn’t just beat up people he beats up diseases because he announced via Twitter that he is already coronavirus free.
This means that possibly, hopefully, wishfully we will finally get the Burns versus Usman fight we all want to see.
I’m going out on a limb here. My prediction is that the champion gets injured and we get Colby Covington versus Gilbert Burns for an interim championship.
