Well it looks like the impossible has happened. It’s fight week and I can’t believe I just got to say that.
This Saturday Tony Ferguson will fight for yet another interim lightweight championship when he takes on Justin Gaethje in Jacksonville, Florida at UFC 249. The co-main event will feature the return of former bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz taking on current bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo. That bout is truly a best there was versus best there is contest and will either be a smash by Henry or a surprise by Dominick.
Dana White has been making his rounds on the sports media circuit giving updates and hyping it up without fear. The coronavirus pandemic was able to hold him off for a little while but it doesn’t seem that even a worldwide virus outbreak can defeat Dana. After several attempts at making UFC 249 happen he finally did it and this Saturday it will be surreal to finally see a live UFC event again.
