Roger Huerta snapped a four fight losing streak with this brutal beatdown of Christian Holley today at ONE FC: Reign of Champions in Dubai. The pouncing is reminiscent of the beating Mark Coleman put on Igor Vovchanchyn in the Pride Openweight Grand Prix in 2000.

There was a reason Pride FC was so beloved. ONE FC is definitely a throwback to the “good ol’ days” if you want to call it that. What do you think, do we need to bring back the soccer kicks and knees to the head of a grounded opponent to liven things up a bit — or does the riskĀ of brain trauma rise significantly with Pride rules?

I think the UFC and MMA in the U.S. is doing it right with the Unified Rules, but every once in awhile it’s just a little fun to watch one of these old school beatdowns, is it not? We’re a sick lot.
