Stuart Scott is an inspiration to so many people. I spent so much time watching ESPN growing up and I can remember so many days that were filled with Scott on SportsCenter. He has that great personality, intelligence and presence that can’t be duplicated. I start out all of our podcasts with a stolen intro from Scott. It is safe to say he has impacted the way I and countless other view sports as well as view the battle with cancer.

My father as so many fathers, sisters, mothers, friends and loved ones is battling cancer. The thought of him dying is a very real and sickening feeling. Watching the way Stuart Scott has handled his seven year journey gives people like me hope. So when Scott was awarded the Jimmy V Perseverance I had to see what he said about his struggles.

“When you die, it does not mean that you lose to cancer,You beat cancer by how you live, why you live, and in the manner in which you live.”

Yeah Ronda Rousey won an ESPY and that is cool but Stuart Scott stole the show for me.
