UFC on FOX 11 LIVE results & play-by-play

A heavyweight match-up between Travis Browne and Fabricio Werdum headline today’s UFC on FOX 11 card from the Amway Center in Orlando, Fla. The winner has been guaranteed a title shot against champion Cain Velasquez.

In the co-main event, Liz Carmouche and Miesha Tate will clash in women’s bantamweight action.

Round 1 – Touch gloves. Big leg kick from May, again. Lewis looks meaner if that means anything. Lewis puts him on his back with a double leg. On top in half guard. May holding on, gives a few punches to the body. Coach giving May instructions in the corner. May is able to get to a dominant position on top of Lewis now, who is one one knee. Body lock from May, he drags him back down and takes full mount. Body shots from May. May softening him up with more punches. Lewis explodes out and delivers some big shots from the top. May on his knees, Lewis pushes him over and has half guard, landing punches. May gets to his feet, looking for the shot, Lewis landing big punches, May covering up and Big John is forced to stop it. Huge win for UFC newcomer Lewis. May still on the canvas and is moaning. Lewis is a beast of a man. May seems to have torn his knee in one of the scrambles.

Round 1 – Touch gloves. Feeling out period. Both guys undefeated. Right hand from Bektic. Skelly flashing the jab. Nice right from Skelly. Skelly shoots in, presses Bektic to the cage. Bektic turns him around. Skelly cunt under his right eye. Foot stomp from Bektic. Ref wants action. Bektic backs out of the clinch. Front kick from Skelly, Bektic counters with punches. Left hook from Bektic scores. Skelly whiffs an overhand right. Skelly shoots, stuffed, rolls to his back. Bektic inside his full guard. Bektic drops two big elbows, another one. Skelly trying to hang on and tie him up. 30 seconds to go. Bektic postures up with a punch, passes to half guard. PMN sees the round 10-9 for Bektic.

Round 2 – One minute in, nothing really landed yet. Skelly blocks a left hook. Nice right to the body from Bektic. Nice right from Skelly, then he shoots in for the single against the cage. Lets it go but lands a couple rights on the break. Bektic ties him up now against the cage, looks for the single, lets it go, remaining clinched, pressing Skelly against the cage. Skelly tries turning him around, Bektic escapes to the center. Nice right on the chin from Skelly hurts Bektic. Skelly lands a big knee to the face while Bektic has one hand on the ground. He then throws and lands another knee while the hand is down. Time is called and the ref takes a point from Skelly. Bektic wants to continue and he has 3 minutes to recover according to the ref. Bektic was pretty wobbly once he got up. Here we go… Right from Skelly. Bektic shoots, stuffed, Skelly lands a knee to the body, then backs right out and squares back up. He dodges a combo from Bektic. Skelly flashes a front kick before the bell. PMN sees the round 9-9 due to the point deduction (Skelly would have won the round). Bektic’s corner says he won the round.

Round 3 – Jab from Bektic. Jab from Bektic, he shoots under a Skelly jab, then picks him up for a big slam. Bektic is now on top inside full guard. Moves to half guard. Skelly scrambles, briefly looks for a kimura, now has Bektic’s back with one hook in. 2 minutes to go. Bektic shakes Skelly off and is now on top in half guard. Skelly back to his feet and they square up. Skelly stalking. Lands a right. Left hook from Bektic. He shoots and gets the takedown. Skelly looking for a leglock. Round 1 – Ortiz with a nice beard. No glove touch. Ortiz takes the center, throws a jab, shoots in and presses Borg to the cage. Knees to the body. Borg jumps on a guillotine position but not holding it tight. Ortiz puts him on his back. Ortiz inside full guard. Moves to half guard. Borg trying to get up. Borg switches to top control now, holding both Ortiz’s legs. Body shots from Ortiz as Borg holding him down. Elbows from Ortiz to the side. Big body shots from Ortiz. Borg picks him up for a slam, jumps on Ortiz’s back, no hooks in yet. Ortiz ends up on top with a front headlock. Knee to the chest from Ortiz. Another one. Body shots from Ortiz. Borg grabs a single to get to his feet. He slams Ortiz again, jumps on Ortiz’s back once again but Ortiz is able to reverse quickly and has top control inside full guard. Nice body shots from Ortiz. Moves to half guard. Borg up and fires off a couple shots before the bell. PMN sees it 10-9 Ortiz.

Round 2 – Body kick from Borg. Misses a wheel kick. Left hook from Ortiz, clinches up Borg against the cage. Knees to body and thighs from Ortiz. They turn each other around. Another few knees from Ortiz to the body, staying busy. Ortiz with a body lock takedown, lands in side control. Ortiz working the elbow strikes. Borg gets half guard, gets to his feet, trips Ortiz and takes Ortiz’s back with a body triangle. Borg looking for the choke, lets it go and lands a few punches. Ortiz with two hands on one wrist now preventing the choke. One minute to go. Ortiz gets to his feet, taking instruction from his corner. Nice crank position as it goes to the ground. Round 3 – Very important round for both guys. Nice jab from Ortiz, body shot, lands a head kick, clinched. Ortiz presses him to the cage. Knees from Ortiz. Ortiz gets some distance, big leg kick. Nice body combo from Ortiz. He catches Borg’s body kick and gives him a leg kick in return. Nice body kick from Ortiz. Leg kick Borg. Borg switching stances. Jumping knee from Borg, clinch. Body lock from Ortiz. Half the round down. Ortiz bleeding from his nose after that flying knee. Ortiz with the jab. Clinch, knee from Ortiz. Again. Knee from Borg and he is able to get Ortiz to his butt. Ortiz lands some elbows as Borg fights to keep him down. Borg jumps on his back, but Ortiz gets out the back and is landing some nice hammerfists and elbows. Borg gets a back bodylock , and gets another slam. Just holding him there right now. Mein gets a single leg takedown rather easily. Now on top inside full guard, lands a left hand, elbows to the gut. Body punches from Mein as he postures up. Perpetuo ties Mein up in half guard. Mein with a left, and a couple more. Perpetuo sweeps, gets to his feet. Left hook, knee to the face from Mein. Big leg kick. PMN sees it 10-9 for Mein.

Round 2 – Leg kick Mein. Leg kick from Perpetuo. Mein just misses with a big right elbow as Perpetuo ducks it. Big leg kick from Mein. Front kick upstairs from Mein. Leg kick. Body jab. Hook combo from Mein. Nice left-right from Mein. Body jab. Mein with the takedown. On top in half guard. Perpetuo sits up then gets up and they square up. Left from Mein. Left hook from Perpetuo. Mein’s footwork and angles looking really good. Avoiding a lot of shots. Perpetuo getting frustrated. PMN sees the round 10-9 for Mein.

Round 3 – Perpetuo looking aggressive. Lead left hook from Mein, again, followed by a right low kick. Inside leg kick from Mein. Mein shoots and gets Perpetuo on his back. Mein on top in half guard. Perpetuo goes for a leglock, straight kneebar locked up. Mein gets free of the leglock but ends up on bottom with Perpetuo in half guard. Perpetuo bleeding from under his eye. Mein gets to his feet. Perpetuo goading him, putting his hands down and calling him on. Left right from Perpetuo, rocks Mein with a hook. Mein shoots, sprawl from Perpetuo. They stay tied up until the bell. 185 lbs: Caio Magalhaes vs. Luke Zachrich

Round 1 – No glove touch. Leg kick from Zachrich. Left hook. Leg kick from Zachrich. Left and right hooks from Caio, then a knee up the center. Caio lands a body shot and a big right and Zachrich goes down, covering up, looks hurt and Big John stops the fight. Caio was throwing bombs with every shot.

Round 1 – Touch gloves. Nice body kick from Payan. Leg kick. He catches White’s body kick. Lets it go. Body kick from White, front kick. Right to the body. Body kick from Payan. Nice body kick from White. Body shot from Payan. Body jab. Nice left from White, he drops Payan with a left and finishes him off with right punches. Ref stops it. Great showing from Alex White in his UFC debut. Couldn’t ask for a better debut in the big show.

Round 1 – Masvidal comes out quickly side kick to the leg. Leg kick from Healy. Again. Side kick to knee from Masvidal. Counter right from Masvidal as Healy tries to get inside. He pushes Healy aside as he tries to clinch up. Leg kick Healy. Body kick from Masvidal. Two right counters from Masvidal. Healy lands a right in return and shoots in for a single. Masvidal holding a standing guillotine position, lands a couple elbows. Healy still working for the single. Masvidal pulls out. Side kick to thigh again. Healy shoots in again against the cage. Healy gets him down and lands a couple rights as Masvidal gets back up. Body shot from Healy as he’s still all over Masvidal against the cage. Elbow from Masvidal on the break. Head kick from Masvidal. Low kick from Healy. Body kick from Masvidal, right counter hook. Jumping knee as Healy shoots in. Masvidal sprawls, back to the feet. They trade a few kicks before the bell. Round 2 – Couple lefts to the body before Healy shoots in against the cage. Couple elbows to the side of the head from Masvidal. Knee to the body from Masvidal, he turns Healy around and backs out. Big right from Masvidal, then a nice jab. Another. Leg kick Healy. Right from Masvidal. Side kick to the leg. Nice combo from Masvidal. Right hook. Healy goes for the single again against the cage. Masvidal backs out, lands a left counter. Spin kick to the head from Masvidal, lands a punch combo. Does a little dancing. Left hook from Healy, then he gets a takedown. Masvidal gets right up but Healy still on him with a body lock from the back. Knee to thigh. Couple knees from Masvidal. Healy shoots in. He presses Healy to the cage and backs out to get striking distance. He lands a couple shots before Healy gets hold of him again against the cage. Masvidal turns him around before the bell. Round 3 – Three right hands from Masvidal as Healy gets in, clinches up and puts Masvidal against the cage. Masvidal turns him around, lands a knee to the body and backs out. Head kick, then a body kick from Masvidal. Right from Healy as he clinches up. Masvidal turns him around, Healy turns Masvidal around but he lands and elbow and backs out. Couple punches from Masvidal. Healy gets a body lock from the back and suplexes Masvidal, they scramble as they fight for top control. Masvidal ends up on top. Healy backs to the cage. Healy gets to his knees, then feet. Masvidal gets the takedown now with 1:20 to go. Masvidal gets a body lock from the back as Healy gets up. Now Healy looking for a single. Dos Anjos gets to his feet as Khabib hangs onto a single. Khabib gets him back down briefly. Now pressing Dos Anjos to the cage. Knee from Dos Anjos on the break. Body kick from Dos Anos, high kick follows, blocked. Khabib rushes in and gets another takedown. Dos Anjos looking for a kimura. Khabib in half guard on top but Dos Anjos gets to his feet. Dos Anjos holding a guillotine from half butterfly guard. Khabib is free as Dos Anjos gets to one knee. Khabib hanging on him, trying to keep him on the ground. Knees from Khabib. He puts Dos Anjos on his back again, Khabib on top in half guard. Dos Anjos gets full guard. Ref wants work. Khabib with punches and elbows, moves to half guard briefly. Ref wants work, crowd boos. Khabib with more punches, stands over Dos Anjos and looking for the big shot before the bell. Dos Anjos pops up at the bell. PMN sees it 10-9 Khabib. Dos Anjos’ corner tells him he lost both rounds. I like the honesty.

Round 3 – Body kicks from Dos Anjos blocked. Lands the next one though. Clinched against the cage, Khabib turns him around and drops for the single. Khabib avoids the takedown. Body shots from Dos Anjos. He keeps on the pressure. Body kick from Dos Anjos, he shoots in, great judo throw from Khabib, now on top in half guard. Body shot from the top. 2 minutes to go. Dos Anjos wraps Khabib up in full guard. Khabib now in half guard. Dos Anjos gets to his knees briefly. Khabib puts him on his back again and stays busy enough not to get stood up. 185 lbs: Yoel Romero vs. Brad Tavares

Round 1 – Two big middleweights. Right hand from Tavares. Front kick Romero. Leg kick Romero. Side kick to thigh. Body kick. Side kick to the leg. They trade leg kick/slaps. Straight left and left hands in the clinch from Romero, then takes Tavares down face first. Tavares gets up looking for a single, Romero looking for a standing kimura. Uses it to gain the advantage, and gets a beautiful bodylock/trip takedown, landing in side mount. Tavares gives up his back, gets to his feet. Romero holding him from the back, kicking the back of his legs. Knees to the backs of the thighs now, he drags him to his knees. Tavares back to his feet, Romero still holding him from behind, throws a couple knees. Tavares gets free and lands a big left and a knee.Tavares ties up with Romero and Romero takes him down again, muscling him face first down. Tavares turns it into a single leg of his own. Romero uses that kimura to turn him over. Tavares looking for the leg from his knees. Great action. PMN has it 10-9 for Romero.

Round 2 – Coach Ray Sefo telling Tavares that Romero is already tired. Romero shows a right, then immediately puts Tavares on his back, now in side mount. Tavares is able to get to his feet. Romero looks for a head kick. Tavares tries to counter with a knee. Right hand from Tavares, then a leg kick. He backs Romero up with a right. Left elbow from Romero catches Tavares coming in and Tavares is bleeding from the left side of his forehead. Romero hops in with a big left hand that connects, shoots in, Romero lands a left and a right, goes back to pressing Tavares against the cage. Tavares’ forehead is a bloody mess. Tavares looking for the takedown now. Bit of a stalemate as they are both holding the single. Romero uses that kimura to roll him over, back up, Romero with a punch combo. Round 3 – Touch gloves and a hug and a smile from Romero. Tavares looks for a high kick. Side kick to thigh from Romero. Tavares shoots, stuffed, Romero pays him back with a couple knees. Romero pressing him to the cage. Back to the center. Right hook from Tavares. One two from Tavares. Leg kick. They trade kicks. Side kick to the leg from Romero. Right hand from Tavares. Step in left hand from Romero. Leg kick Tavares. HUGE takedown from Romero and Tavares goes flying through the air. He gets to his feet though but Romero is still on him pressing him against the cage. Ref separates them with 60 seconds to go. Romero slips a nice punch combo. Leg kick Romero. Round 1 – Leg kick and three right hands from Barboza force Cerrone to look for a takedown, presses Barboza to the cage. He backs out. Leg kick from Barboza, overhand right. Jab from Barboza. Leg kick Cerrone. Left jab, straight right from Barboza, front kick. Right from Cerrone, nice quick elbow from Barboza. Big leg kick. Jab from Cerrone. Right from Cerrone but Barboza fires back and gets Cerrone’s attention. Leg kick Cerrone. Barboza seems to have the power advantage. Cerrone leg kick. Ncie left from Cerrone on the chin. Barboza fires right back and lands 2 or 3 nice punches. Cerrone eats them. Spinning back kick to the body from Cerrone. Jab from Barboza. Body kick. Left hook to the body. Cerrone checks a kick, lands a quick couple jabs. This is a FIGHT guys. Cerrone knocks Barboza down with a quick left jab, jumps on his back and chokes him out. Barboza taps. OMG!!!! Holy Sh*t guys!! Holy f*cking sh*t! He dropped him with a jab! MMA is MMAmazing that you can do that to someone and end a fight so quickly after eating so many big shots. In only a little over 3 minutes that was Fight of the Night in my book. Great back and forth action.

Round 1 – No glove touch. Jab from Miesha. Leg kick from Liz. Front kick follows. Front kick from Tate. They tie up, Liz pushes her to the cage. Tate turns her around. Liz with a body lock, turns her around and dumps her on her butt. Elbow to the back from Tate. Tate softening her up with punches and Liz punches her thighs. Liz punches her in the body as she tries to hold her down. Tate gets to her feet. Liz hanging on her from behind, knees to the back of her thighs. Liz dumps her on her butt once again. Tate looking for a standing kimura. Liz gets free of it and still holding on. Big knee to the back of the thigh. Tate looking for that arm again, but Liz gets out and lands on top with a trip. Liz inside guard as bell sounds. PMN sees it 10-9 for Carmouche.

Round 2 – Overhand right from Liz. Miesha throws a punch combo but Liz shoots in and presses her to the cage. Knee to the body from Tate. Tate turns her around and looking for the single.
