The questions swirling following the announcement Friday that the Sarah Kaufman- Jessica Eye bout from October had been changed to a no decision by the authorities in Texas just keep getting compounded. Today MMAWeekly reports that Eye has been suspended for a year following a failed test for a banned substance.
Eye received a penalty in the amount of $1,875 and has also been suspended for one year from the date the Administrative Order was signed, according to TDLR officials.
Jessica on the other hand is standing by that she is not suspended and she will indeed fight Alexis Davis at UFC 170 later this month. Eye cancelled her appearance on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani due to personal reasons.
MMAJunkie.com cleared up some of the issue when information they received points to Eye being on a probationary suspension for a year, which will allow her to fight in Las Vegas in 19 days. Eye still contends she is not suspended and is disputing this ruling.
