Invicta FC Crest

Invicta Fighting Championships announced today that they will return to the Ameristar Casino and Hotel in Kansas City for their next event. Christmas comes earlier for WMMA fans as December 7th will be the date that three Invicta titles will be on the line and six additional fights to support them.

The main event features newly crowned flyweight champ Barb Honchak defending her title for the first time against Leslie Smith. Honchak defeated Vanessa Porto back in April and has won seven in a row. Smith was impressive in victory in her flyweight debut and has won three of her last four.

The strawweights are tapped in the co-main event when champion Carla Esparza puts her belt on the line against undefeated Claudia Gadelha. Esparza was set to defend her title at the last Invicta outing but was forced to withdraw due to injury. She won the title after a hard fought five round decision over Bec Hyatt. Gadelha makes her second appearance under the Invicta banner after defeating Ayaka Hamasaki back in July.

Rounding out the trio of title bouts will be the first bantamweight title engagement. Miriam Nakamoto looks to get her third win. Her last appearance at Invicta resulted in a quick and impressive TKO win.  The muay thai champion will face undefeated striker Lauren Murphy. Murphy has won back to back fights over Kaitlin Young and Sarah D’Aleio.
