The headline bout for Cage Warriors 57 has been confirmed as Paul Daley (32-12-2) faces Lukasz Chlewicki (10-2) in a welterweight matchup. The event will take place at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England, on July 20.

Cage Warriors Fighting Championship (CWFC) officials confirmed the bout today via official press release.

Here is what Paul Daley had to say about the fight:

“I’m excited to be fighting back in the UK again and back at Cage Warriors, which is Europe’s premier show,” Daley also said. “I pretty much started my career here and it’s great to see how the promotion has grown. I’m happy to be part of it and I can’t wait to entertain all my supporters.” – Paul Daley.

Paul Daley is currently riding a three fight winning streak, most recently defeating Rodrigo Ribeiro via second round KO at Dubai Fighting Championship 4 in May. Prior to that he scored a second round KO victory over Patrick Vallee at Cage Contender 16 in February, and picked up a first round TKO win over Rudy Bears at Bellator 72 in July 2012. Daley now has the chance to extend his streak to four with a good performance against Chlewicki.

“Taking on one of the best guys in the world, this is the kind of fight I’ve been waiting for. This will be a massive challenge for me, especially in front of his fans, but that won’t affect me at all and I’ll be prepared.” – Lukasz Chlewicki.

Lukasz Chlewicki last fought at “FA 7 – Sieradz” in April, where he defeated Michal Kozmer via first round KO. Prior to that he recorded a draw against Vitor Nobrega at “FA 4 – Chlewicki vs. Nobrega” in November 2012. Before that draw he had been on a four fight winning streak, defeating Jordan Bloch, Mindaugas Baranauskas, Sergey Korchagin and Danny Taylor. Chlewicki will no doubt look for a big win over Daley on July 20.
