The UFC on FX 8 event took place at Arena Jaragua in Jaragua Do Sul, Santa Catarina, Brazil, on Saturday night. Vitor Belfort defeated Luke Rockhold via first round KO using a spectacular wheel kick, which earned him “Knockout of the Night” honors.
Vitor Belfort, Ronaldo Souza, Lucas Martins and Jeremy Larsen each took home $50,000 bonuses for their performances at Saturday’s UFC on FX 8 event.
As mentioned earlier, Vitor Belfort earned “Knockout of the Night”, but the rest of the bonuses went to Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza, who earned “Submission of the Night”, and Lucas Martins and Jeremy Larsen, who landed “Fight of the Night” honors.
Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza laid down an exciting performance in his UFC debut, which many could label as a lesson on Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He defeated late replacement Chris Camozzi with an impressive first round arm-triangle choke.
Lucas Martins and Jeremy Larsen engaged in a stand-up war, which involved some brutal kicks and heavy punches. The first two rounds had the crowd going wild as the two men tied up in an exciting exchange of strikes. Early in the third round Larsen walked into a stiff counter right from Martins, which dropped him to the canvas and ended the fight.
