UFC bantamweight fighter Raphael Assuncao (18-4) has announced that he has signed a new four-fight deal with the Ultimate Fighting Championships. The Brazilian native recently made the announcement via his Twitter page.

“New UFC 4-fight deal contract under way, can’t wait to fight again! Got some news coming up shortly!” – Raphael Assuncao.

At a time when so many fighters are getting cut, it must be quite comforting for Assuncao to know that the UFC wants to keep him around. Raphael indicated in the tweet that a fight booking is on the way, so it will be interesting to see who he will face next.

Raphael is currently riding a three fight winning streak, most recently defeating Mike Easton via unanimous decision at UFC on FOX 5 in December 2012. Prior to that he scored a second round TKO victory over Issei Tamura at UFC on FUEL TV 4 in July 2012, and a unanimous decision win over Johnny Eduardo at UFC 134 in August 2011.

Assuncao will no doubt look to extend his winning streak even further and solidify himself as a top contender in the UFC’s  bantamweight division.
