[ads1]UFC officials have announced another bout for the upcoming UFC 160 event that’s set to take place on May 25 in Las Vegas.

A bantamweight bout between Brian Bowles and George Roop has been agreed upon by both fighters.

The UFC 160 event will be headlined by the UFC heavyweight title fight between champion Cain Velasquez and challenger Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva. The fight will be a rematch with Silva attempting to avenge a first round TKO loss suffered at UFC 146 in May 2012.

Bowles (10-2) has been out of action for well over a year since losing against Urijah Faber at 139 in November 2011. The former WEC champion was returning to a more active schedule prior to the layoff, fighting three times in 2011. He fought just once in 2009 and 2010 respectively, due to injuries for the most part. He’ll be looking to get back on track against Roop.

Roop (13-9-1) is coming off a unanimous decision win over Reuben Duran at UFC 158 as he returned to the bantamweight division. It’ll be a relatively short turnaround for Roop as he’ll be fighting again in just a few short weeks. Roop has lost two straight fights leading up to his UFC 158 win, albeit both loses were to ranked featherweight fighters Cub Swanson and Hatsu Hioki.

The main card will air on PPV with the usual 10 p.m ET starting time, preliminary fights will air on FX and Facebook.
