frankie_edgar_prommanow.com[ads1]UFC officials have announced two new bouts for the upcoming UFC 162 event that’s set for July 6 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Neveda.

A featherweight bout between Frankie Edgar and Charles Oliveira, and another featherweight bout between Cub Swanson and Dennis Siver have been agreed upon.

The UFC 162 event will be headlined by the middleweight title fight between champion Anderson Silva and challenger Chris Weidman.

Edgar (15-4-1) is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Jose Aldo at UFC 156 in his bid to become a UFC champion in two different weight classes. The former UFC lightweight champion has now dropped three consecutive bouts, but all three bouts have been close decision losses in title fights.

Oliveira (16-3, 1NC) is coming off a KO loss against Cub Swanson at UFC 152 in September 2012. Oliveira had won won back-to-back fights since moving to the featherweight division.

The Cub Swanson-Dennis Siver bout was originally set for the UFC on FUEL TV 7 card earlier this year, but Siver had to withdraw from the bout due to an injury. Swanson (19-5) went on to face Dustin Poirier on short notice at the event and won a unanimous decision.

Siver (21-8) has not competed since defeating Nam Phan via unanimous decision at the UFC on FOX 5 event in December.
