bellator-mmaFight fans watching Tiger Sarnavskiy fight in the Bellator Lightweight Quarterfinal know two things. Tiger won the match. And, he also fractured his hand.

The bittersweet victory means he will not be able to participate in the Season 8 Lightweight Tournament and he will be replaced. This news was relayed Monday evening via Twitter by Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney.

Brilliant submission fighter Jason “The Finisher” Fischer will step in to fill the gap when The Lightweight Tournament continues February 28th at Santa Ana Star Center in New Mexico. This is a huge chance for Fischer. He will not only have the opportunity to win the $100,000 tournament prize money, but he will also have the chance to avenge his loss at the hands of David “The Caveman” Rickels in the semi-finals. Rickels won the fight in November 2012 via unanimous decision.

“This is a huge opportunity for me,” Fischer said. “I feel like I’ve put in a ton of hard work and this is the time for all that work to pay off. You never like to see any fighter go down with an injury, but when the phone call came in, I jumped at the opportunity. My loss to Rickels still bothers me, and I’m looking to wipe the slate clean with a big win on February 28th.”

Other fights on the card include an undefeated Will Brooks against Saad Awad for a chance to advance to the Bellator Lightweight Tournament Finals, and reigning Bellator Light Heavyweight Champion Christian M’Pumbu pitted against Attila Vegh for the title.

Tickets can be purchased through ComcastTix.com, Bellator.com or at The Santa Ana Star Center box office for $25-$90. The LIVE broadcast begins at 8 p.m. MST on Spike, y en Español en la mun2. Fans can watch the preliminary card LIVE and FREE on Spike.com starting at 6 p.m. MST.
