Following an open workout Tuesday, Bellator featherweight champ Pat Curran (17-4) spoke with ProMMAnow.com (www.prommanow.com) and other media outlets about his upcoming title defense against Patricio “Pitbull” Freire (17-1) at Bellator 85.
Curran shared his opinion on how he feels he matches up with Pitbull, as well as his general game plan for the fight. He also talked about it being Pitbull’s first five round fight and how that should prove to be an advantage for himself.
Although Pitbull told us he would “kill” Curran should the fight go to the ground, Curran explained why he’s not worried about playing the submission game with the BJJ black belt. Curran also talked about the growth of Bellator and fighting on the promotion’s Spike TV debut.
