A welterweight match-up between Mike “Quicksand” Pyle (21-7-1) and Rory “The Water Boy” MacDonald (11-1) has been verbally agreed to for UFC 133 on Aug. 6 in Philadelphia, according to UFC President Dana White on Monday.

Pyle, a 10 1/2 year veteran of the sport, has gone 4-2 since arriving in the UFC in May 2009. He is currently on a three-fight win streak, most recently defeating Ricardo Almeida via unanimous decision at UFC 128 in March.

At only 21-years-old, MacDonald has already made a big impact in his short UFC career. After scoring a unanimous decision win in his UFC debut over veteran Mike Guymon, MacDonald came back five months later to put on a “Fight of the Night” performance against Carlos Condit at UFC 115.

Although he lost to Condit, MacDonald gained the respect of his peers and pundits and put himself on the proverbial 170-pound UFC map.

In April, MacDonald took on The Ultimate Fighter season five winner Nate Diaz. MacDonald man-handled the Stockton submission specialist, suplexed him, battered him on the feet, and plain out-powered him for three full rounds to take home the unanimous decision victory.

UFC 133 will also feature Rashad Evans vs. Phil Davis in a light heavyweight title eliminator. For the complete UFC 133 line-up refer to ProMMAnow.com’s Upcoming Events page.
