Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz is never one to bite his tongue and this interview which took place at Thursday’s “Diaz vs. Daley” press conference is no exception.

Now that Zuffa has purchased Strikeforce Diaz believes it invalidates his Strikeforce title and he doesn’t even feel like a champion. “I knew there’s a reason I never put that [expletive] on,” Diaz says, regarding his championship belt.

Diaz wants to be the best and beat the best, and it seems he’s convinced now the only way to do that is in the UFC. He also states that if his teammate Jake Shields defeats Georges St-Pierre and is then ranked number one, he wants to be number two.

Finally, the Stockton brawler says he is over-trained, over-worked, underpaid, under-publicized and Strikeforce doesn’t care about him. Regardless of all that, Diaz is still scheduled to fight Paul Daley in a title fight Saturday night LIVE on Showtime.

Nick Diaz says he did not want to do this interview with Ariel Helwani but they made him do it. He thinks Ariel instigates beef between fighters.
