ProMMAnow.com presents: Afternoon Press Box with guest Herschel Walker

One year ago Herschel Walker (above) fought Greg Nagy at "Strikeforce: Miami". He will return this weekend against Scott Carson at "Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Cyborg" and will be part of the televised main card which will air live on Showtime.

During the mixed martial arts hour on Wednesday’s episode of AFTERNOON PRESS BOX on Sports Radio 560 WNSR, hosts Darren McFarland, Brad Hopkins, Chris Pappas and Ed Clay spoke with Heisman Trophy winner, NFL veteran, 1992 Olympian and current Strikeforce professional mixed martial arts fighter Herschel Walker.

Walker (1-0) discussed his his upcoming fight with Scott Carson (4-1) which takes place this Saturday at “Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Cyborg” and will air live on Showtime at 10 p.m. ET. Walker, 48, also talked about how he has approached and made the transition into MMA and why he is able to continue performing at the highest levels of professional sports at his advanced age.

AFTERNOON PRESS BOX co-host Brad Hopkins is a 13-year NFL veteran himself, so he brings an interesting perspective with his questions for Walker and it’s entertaining to listen as two former pro footballers talk passionately about mixed martial arts.

In addition to the interview with Herschel Walker, the guys also discuss some current MMA topics, recent news in the sport, Bully Beatdown and what happens when a fighter loses their “killer instinct.”
