ST. LOUIS – ProMMAnow.com is on scene live for “Strikeforce: Henderson vs. Babalu II” which takes place this evening at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri.

“Strikeforce: Henderson vs. Babalu II” will air live on Showtime starting at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT, and features a rematch light-heavyweight main event between Dan Henderson and Renato “Babalu” Sobral.

The rematch between Henderson and “Babalu” takes place over 10 years since they first met back in 2010. In addition to the main event, welterweight sluggers Paul Daley and Scott Smith will engage in what is sure to be a fireworks filled bout, and the heavyweights will look to steal the show as Mike Kyle faces off against Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva.

Rising star Ovince St. Preux will kick off the main televised card against the heavy-hitting Benji Radach in a light-heavyweight attraction.

“Strikeforce: Henderson vs. Babalu II” play-by-play:

Josh Epps vs. J.W. Wright

Round 1 – Wright goes for the take down and gets it right out of the gate. Epps works to full guard. Wright postures for a couple of shots, and gives a little too much space, and Epps scrambles, but Wright maintains control. Wright looks for the guillotine, locks up his guard and cinches it up. Epps is in trouble. The tap comes at 1:29 of the first round.

Booker DeRousse vs. Coltin Cole

Round 1 – DeRousse throws first, then clinches, putting Cole on the cage. DeRousse with some knees, then goes for the take down but it’s defended. More knees from DeRousse. DeRousse has double underhooks and is still pressing Cole against the cage and delivering knees. Cole goes for a take down of his own, with a partially executed throw, but DeRousse stays on his feet and lands some more knees.

Cole turns DeRousse and puts him on the cage, then lands a forearm/elbow. Cole comes back and drops DeRousse with a big left hand and is now landing some ground and pound. DeRousse throws his legs up looking for a triangle. Cole picks him up and slams him, then a scramble ensues, and DeRousse grabs the ankles for a sweep.

DeRousse goes for the triangle again and it’s tighter this time, but Cole is out. DeRousse is turtled up and Cole spins to take his back. Cole with some punches from the top, and as DeRousse stands, Cole locks his hands and gets a big suplex.

They are back on their feet, and DeRousse gets a take down just before the bell. ProMMAnow.com scores Round 1 for Coltin Cole, 10-9.

Round 2 – DeRousse starts with a kick, then takes the fight to the ground. DeRousse is in the half guard of Cole now and landing punches. Cole is looking for an arm, but ends up getting mounted. DeRousse is looking for the Americana now. He’s got the arm extended but Cole is still fighting off the sub attempt. DeRouussa gets too high in the mount, and Cole escapes out the back door.

DeRousse maintains control, and works back to full mount again, total domination by DeRousse in the second frame. Big left hands by DeRousse now. DeRousse is teeing off and this one is close to being stopped…. The referee steps in and stops the fight at 3:04 of Round 2.

Lee Brousseau vs. Mike Glenn

Round 1 – Brousseau starts fast and is teeing off on Glenn. Glenn is taking a beating. Brousseau is still throwing huge punches as Glenn looks for an ankle. Glenn gets to his feet and takes the fight to the ground, and mounts Brousseau.
Glenn is now landing bombs from the top and Brousseau is covering up. The referee steps in and stops it at 2:00.

Tom Aaron vs. Matt Ricehouse

Round 1 – Ricehouse feints but backs away. Aaron comes forward with a nice leg kick. Ricehouse throws a right hand, and Aaron counters, then gets a body lock, and a big slam. Aaron working to pass, but is caught in half guard right now. Ricehouse retains guard and Aaron backs away.

Aaron is swinging for the fences but misses with big looping punches. Nice kick by Ricehouse. Aaron kicks, and Ricehouse counters with a big right hand that drops Aaron. Aaron is looking for a triangle working a high guard, but Ricehouse is out and passes to side mount.

Aaron scrambles and both are on their feet and exchanging big knees now. Ricehouse has double underhooks, then Aaron steps over for a throw and the fight hits the ground. Aaron is going for the back, but Ricehouse gets to his back. Aaron don’t seem comfortable in the guard of Ricehouse and steps away.

Aaron working for the take down and Ricehouse scrambles back to his feet quickly. Close first round. ProMMAnow.com scores Round 1 for Tom Aaron, 10-9.

Round 2 – Ricehouse with a kick, that is countered with a right hand by Aaron. Aaron just misses upstairs with a kick. Again. Big kick by Ricehouse. Ricehouse with another nice leg kick. Aaron fakes a punch steps in and gets taken down after throwing a left kick.

Ricehouse on top looking to pass. He does easily. Aaron works back to half guard. Ricehouse lands a couple of punches, but Aaron scrambles out and to his feet. Ricehouse scores with a knee, then Aaron turns him and puts him on the cage, and throws a right hand or two.

Ricehouse with a nice knee, then he turns and puts Aaron on the cage. Ricehouse locks his hands and tries to take Aaron down, but Aaron defends and still has his back on the cage. More knees from Ricehouse from the clinch. After a stall, “Big John” separates the fighters.

Aaron lands a knee, but Ricehouse clinches, puts him on the cage, then gets the slam. Ricehouse in the half guard of Aaron and is landing left hands with Aaron pinned on the cage. ProMMAnow.com scores Round 2 for Ricehouse, 10-9.

Round 3 – Ricehouse to the clinch immediately. Aaron turns him and puts his back on the cage, and drops for the take down. He geets it, but Ricehouse is immediately back to his feet. Aaron works him back down.

Ricehouse looking for an arm then reverses, and gets to mount. Aaron scrambles out and they are back on their feet. Ricehouse clinches, then gets a take down. Ricehouse is in the full guard of Aaron now. Ricehouse with a right hand, but Aaron is controlling his posture pretty well and not taking too much damage. Cortez Coleman vs. Lucas Lopes

Round 1 – Big right hand by Coleman, knees from Coleman, uppercut, and Lopes backs out after a knee. Leg kick by Lopes and Coleman counters with a big right hand, and shots to the body. Big uppercuts by Coleman, and Lopes lands a big right hand. Body shot by Lopes and he steps out. Coleman just misses with a big right hand, and Lopes takes the fight down but gets reversed immediately.

Coleman goes for the guillotine, and goes to his back looking to finish. The choke is tight but Lopes looks like he might just get out. Nope, there is the tap.

Terrell Brown vs. Patrick Cummins

Round 1 – Big kick by Brown. Left hand by Brown, then another kick. Cummins gets a take down, gets to side mount and is landing left hands. Cummins isolates the left arm of Brown and is looking for the Americana. Brown escapes the submission, but is still in trouble with Cummins landing big shots from the top. Cummins is landing huge right hands now. Cummins stands and lands some huge body shots, then a barrage of big right hands. The referee gets in there and stops it.

Justin Lawrence vs. Max Martyniouk

Round 1 – Leg kick to start by Justin. Justin gets the take down and is in the half guard of Max. Max with a couple of elbows to the body. More right hands to the body of Justin by Max. Justin is working to pass but so far cannot. Short left hands by Justin. Justin finds space and gets the full mount, then goes for the arm triangle and it is tight. Max survives, after several seconds with his arm trapped.

Justin in side control, and landing right hands. Short hammerfists by Justin. Max is doing nothing off his back. More short hammerfists for Justin. Max tries to hip escape but eats right hands for his troubles. Dominating round for Lawrence, 10-9.

Round 2 – Slow start to begin the second. Both guys are circling but not doing much. Kick from Justin. Stinging leg kick by Justin. Another. Max swings but misses. Justin throws a left, then connects with another leg kick.

Front kick by Max, and Justin comes back with a spinning kick that misses, but then drills home another leg kick. Jab, then a big right hand drops Max where he stands, but he doesn’t go all the way down. Another big right hand, and another and Max is down this time. Justin looking to finish on the ground, but Max ties him up in his half guard. Justin advances to full mount, but Max bucks out, and is back on his feet.

Another big leg kick from Justin. And another. Justin to the body, then back to the leg with the kick. Justin with a switch kick, then another leg kick. Big round for Lawrence, ProMMAnow.com scores it 10-9.

Round 3 – Push kick by Justin, and another leg kick. He switches it up and goes upstairs, then drops Max with a big left hand. He pounces and lands … a SOCCER kick. Looks like a DQ, but it is actually ruled an accidental foul, so since it is the 3rd round, it will go to the cards.

Fernando Bettega vs. Wayne Phillips

Round 1 – Bettega scores with an inside leg kick. Phillips counters with a right hand. Bettega punches his way inside and gets the clinch against the cage. Punches to the thighs, then a knee from Bettega. He is dropping for the take down, but stands and delivers more knees.

Phillips circles and puts Bettega against the cage. Knees to the inside thighs of Bettega by Phillips. Bettega with some elbows to the top of the head. Phillips keeps fighting and gets the fight to the ground.

Phillips to the body with left hands in the full guard of Bettega. Bettega is controlling the posture of Phillips early. Phillips works to put Bettega against the cage. Bettega is working for an arm-in guillotine, and is still squeezing. Phillips is throwing right hands to the body, then works his head free.

The referee has seen enough of the stalling, and stands them up. Phillips lands a left kick then a big right hand but Bettega walks right through it. Bettega to the body. ProMMAnow.com scores Round 1 for Bettega, 10-9.

Round 2 – Kick to start by Bettega. Phillips just misses with a left hand, then Bettega scores with a kick. They both stand in the pocket and have a nice exchange. Right hand by Phillips scores. Bettega with a short left hand.

Phillips lands a kick, then just misses with a big right hand. Phillips doubles up on his jab, then lands a nice kick to the body. Bettega returns fire with a kick. More jabs from Phillips and Bettega drops and lands to the body with a right hand. Again. Bettega misses with a big right hand.

Inside leg kick from Bettega, then Phillips comes back with a jab, then a left hand. To the clinch, with Bettega leaning on Phillips. Phillips turns Bettega and puts his back on the cage and is looking for a take down.

Round 3 – Jab by Phillips, then a nice kick to the body. Phillips staying busy with his jab. Bettega lands a short right hand to the body, then scores with back-to-back kicks. Back to the body by Bettega. Phillips still sticking with his jab. Bettega leans in and eats a kick to the face. Phillips shoots for a single and lands right into a guillotine. There is an arm-in, and Bettega can’t finish it. Phillips works out and is in the half guard now. Left hands to the body from Phillips. Not much action right now. Phillips with a couple of right hands, and Bettega is working his hips out, but is flat on his back again. Phillips finishes the Round on top, and wins the final stanza 10-9. Benji Radach vs. Ovince St. Preux

Round 1 – Big kick by Ovince to start. Lots of feeling out early. Ovince with a left uppercut, and Radach shoots in and takes the fight to the ground. Ovince uses the cage and stands. Radach looking to get the fight back to the ground, and has Ovince pushed against the cage. Knee to the thigh by Radach. Big right hand by Ovince, and Radach counters with a right hand. Ovince with a big kick, then a right hand, and is on the back of Radach poundign gon him from the top. Huge left hands from Ovince, then big right hands with Radach flattened out. Ovince to the body of the flattened out Radach. Big right hands, and hammer fists from Ovince, Radach is covered up and doing nothing. The ref is calling for action. Ovince looks for the rear naked, but gives it up. Ovince in total control, and he goes for the rear naked choke again. Ovince with big right hands under the arm of Radach. Ovince finishes the round on top in complete control. Round 1 easily to St. Preux.

Round 2 – Big uppercut by Ovince drops Radach right out of the gate. Radach is down and on his knees as Ovince goes to take his back. Radach stands, but Ovince puts him right back down. Knees to the thigh from Ovince. Big left hand from Ovince. Left hands to the body. Ovince looking to get a hook in. Radach is scrambling but eating big right hands now. More left hands to the body. Hammerfists now. Big left hands under the arm lands on Radach. Radach is turtled up and taking big shots. More big left hands from Ovince. Total domination by St. Preux. Radach is on his back briefly leaning on the cage, then rolls and is turtled up, taking more right hands from Ovince.

Radach stands, but Ovince puts him right back down. Domination by St. Preux, 10-9.

Round 3 – Big right hand for Radach and St. Preux is against the cage. Huge knee for St. Preux, and Radach scores with a flurry. Radach throws a right and St. Preux drops Radach with a big left hand. Radach is turtled up, and taking more hammerfists, and right hands. After a stall, the ref stands them up. Left kick from Ovince. Right hand from Radach, and Ovince coutners with a kick to the head that is blocked. Radach comes forward and lands a big right hand that backs Ovince up against the cage. Radach is working on a single with Ovince defending against the cage. The ref separates them again. Radach shoots and grabs a single again, putting Ovince against the cage. Radach has both legs now but Ovince is sprawled out. Ovince lands a north-to-south elbow and is warned. The referee separates them again. Right hand by Radach, and Ovince just misses with that big left uppercut. Radach clinches with 30 seconds to go. Radach gets the take down and is in the guard of Ovince. Time has run out. Mike Kyle vs. Antonio Silva

Round 1 – Kyle flashing his jab early. Big right hand by Kyle, just as Silva throws a jab. Kyle lands a big right hand that drops Silva. Kyle is teeing off, diving in with big punches, and punishing Silva early. Big hammerfists from Kyle from the top. Silva is surviving though, have to give him credit, he has ate some big punches. Kyle with short right hands now. Kyle with some ear shots now. Silva nearly gets the sweep, but Kyle stays on top and delivers some more deadly hammerfirsts. To the body, then head by Kyle. Pure punishment by Kyle with less than a minute to go. Right elbows from Kyle now, then a big right hand. ProMMAnow.com scores Round 1 for Mike Kyle, 10-9.

Round 2 – Silva shoots from six feet out and lands at the feet of Kyle. Right hand lands from Silva. Big leg kick from Silva gets a smile from Kyle. Kyle shoots in, but Silva counters and takes Kyle down and is now on top. Silva stands and lands some big right hands. Kyle throws his legs up for a triangle, but Silva passes easily. Big hammerfists from Silva now, he is returning the favor now. Kyle leans in and gets caught in a choke, and Silva locks up an anaconda choke and rolls. Kyle is in trouble, but somehow works out. Kyle kicks Silva off, but Silva is standing over him looking for the big shot. Silva gets the mount and is raining down big right hands and it is OVER.

Robbie Lawler vs. Matt Lindland

Round 1 – Robbie throwing early, Lindland counters. Lindland misses to the head with a kick. Robbie throwing with bad intentions and lands a solid left hand. Lindland counters with a right hand. Lindland throws a jab, and Robbie lands a short uppercut, then a booming right hook that drops Lindland. Lawler jumps on him and lands a huge right hand to the prone Lindland. Get the pajamas people, Lindland is in sleepy-land.

Paul Daley vs. Scott Smith

Round 1 – Smith with a jab, and Daley goes big with a right hand. Leg kick scores for Daley. Nice jab from both guys. Daley ducks under the jab and goes to the body. Smith working his jab early. Another kick from Daley. Big right hand from Daley drops Smith against the cage. Smith is back up but looks wobbly. He comes forward but doesn’t land anything. Daley stalking now. Daley with the 1-2 combo straight down the punch. Jab from Smith, and an overhand right from Daley. Daley lands 4 consecutive left hooks and Smith is in trouble. Smith comes forward and throws a winging right hand and Daley steps to the side and lands a one-punch left hook KO.

Dan Henderson vs. Renato “Babalu” Sobral

Round 1 – Jabs from both guys. Henderson clinches for a moment and lands a big elbow before stepping back. Babalu with a kick. Nice jab from Babalu, then a kick. Henderson with a left hand, then just misses with that big right hand. To the body from Babalu. Huge right hand for Henderson, then a left hand forces Babalu to grab a leg out of desperation. Henderson stands over him and lands two huge right hands. Babalu is in trouble. Henderson leans in with a three punch flurry and it is all over.
