The California State Athletic Commission has released the fighter salaries from the July 26th EliteXC event that took place on CBS.  The night featured three title belts; none of which ending in an upset.  The numbers for the event were down significantly compared to the inaugural event in May.  Although the card may have lacked “star” power, the quality of the fights and fighters was much improved.  Notice the discrepancy in the salaries.  The highest paid participant was Antonio Silva, who ironically was not featured on CBS.  He headlined the prelude to the CBS show which aired on Showtime.  Silva made more than twice the amount of the CBS headliner and MW champion Robbie Lawler.  Although some of the fighters on CBS such as Tomas Denny earned a minimal wage, one can speculate that they were able to obtain lucrative sponsorship deals.
