[ads1]sara mcmann ufc 159With the news of Cat Zingano‘s injury and removal from her scheduled role as coach on The Ultimate Fighter 18 opposite Ronda Rousey, and subsequent announcement that Miesha Tate would be stepping in as a replacement, many of MMA’s social media savvy fans made it known they were none too pleased.

The backlash was not because of any dislike for Tate, but because, well, she’s coming off a loss. And who deserves a title shot — yes the TUF coaches fight at the end of the season — when they’re coming off a loss except for Chael Sonnen? Deserves schmerves, since when has someone deserving it made a difference?

The bottom line is the difference. You know this. But just in hypotheticals — in a dream world where those who really deserved it got the next shot at the title, that would most likely be Sara McMann. A 2004 Olympic silver medalist, she’s undefeated at 7-0 as a professional (3-0 amateur), and she’s coming off a first round TKO win over Sheila Gaff in her UFC debut in April.

ProMMAnow.com (www.prommanow.com) reporter and resident bodyguard Dan “The Wolfman” Theodore spole with McMann Tuesday shortly after the news broke that Tate would be taking Zingano’s spot on TUF. McMann was very professional and seemed to handle it very well. It was mostly the fans who were having the hissy fit. So here it is, check out Dan’s guerrilla style interview:
