A headline bout has been added to the Cage Warriors 55 card as Cathal Pendred (12-2-1) defends the Cage Warriors welterweight title against former UFC fighter Che Mills (15-5).  The event is set to take place at the Helix in Dublin, Ireland, on June 1.

Cage Warriors officials confirmed the new bout earlier today.

Cage Warriors 55 will also feature a one-night, four-man flyweight tournament. The semi-finals will be part of the preliminary card with the winners likely to compete to become the inaugural flyweight champion in the co-main event. CWFC 55 will air live on MMAJunkie.com with the prelims expected to air on Facebook.

Cathal Pendred last fought at CWFC 52 in March, where he scored a unanimous decision victory over Gael Grimaud to become the Cage Warriors welterweight champ. Prior to that he scored a unanimous decision win over Bruno Carvalho at CWFC 49 in October 2012, and a unanimous decision victory over David Bielkheden at CWFC 47 in June 2012. Pendred will no doubt look for a big win over Mills in his first title defense.

Che Mills was last in action at UFC on FUEL TV 7 in February, where he dropped a decision loss against Matthew Riddle and was subsequently dropped from the promotion. However, Riddle later tested positive for marijuana metabolites in his post-fight drug test, so his win over Mills was overturned to a No Contest. Mills now has the chance to bounce back in a big way with a good performance against Pendred on June 1.
